SALEM -- Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a nationally acclaimed counterintelligence authority, Ph.D. and noted author who worked as strategist and deputy assistant to President Donald Trump will serve as the keynote speaker at the Columbiana County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Chairman and CEO of the Threat Knowledge Group and Non-Resident Scholar with the Institute of World Politics in Washington. D.C., Gorka worked in the White House until August 2017.
Reservations for the Lincoln Day Dinner to be held at the Timberlanes complex in Salem may be made by calling 330-223-1511 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. The cost is $45 per person, with a 50 percent discount for students.
Before serving in the White House, Gorka held the Major General Mathew C. Horner Distinguished Chair of Military Theory at the Marine Corps University where he taught courses on Irregular Warfare and Counterterrorism. Previously, he was Associate Dean of Congressional Affairs and Relations to the Special Operations Community at the National Defense University.
His most recent book, "Defeating Jihad -- the Winnable War" was a New York Times bestseller. He's a regular contributor to the FOX News network as one of the leading authorities in the world on ISIS and the worldwide terrorist threat posed by radical Islamists, according to a press release issued by the GOP.
Gorka is an internationally recognized authority on issues of national security, irregular warfare, terrorism and democratization and has testified before Congress and briefed both military and intelligence agencies. He also served as a subject matter expert for the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Boston bombing trial.
