SALEM -- Police and fire department personnel were on the scene of an accident which damaged a gas pipe in the 800 block of Jennings Friday night, causing a gas leak. Columbia Gas was called to respond and the accident was under investigation. As of press time, no residents had to be evacuated, according to dispatch. All fire department personnel were called in to cover the station while the shift on duty remained at the scene.
