Elks retired ladies to meet

Prayer coordinator to speak
ALLIANCE - Alliance Community Lighthouse plans to meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 5 at Alliance Christian Center, 670 W. Main St. The speaker is Jane Kuhns, Aglow International Ohio state prayer coordinator. She and her husband Tony have five grown children and 16 grandchildren. Attendees are asked to bring snacks and/or finger foods to share. Elayne Dunlap is scheduled to speak on Oct. 3. SMRC Aux. raffle planned
SALEM -- Salem Regional Medical Center's (SRMC) Auxiliary is raffling a luxury stay at the historic Sebring Mansion Inn and Spa.
The winner will receive a two-night stay in the mansion's "Currier and Ives" guest room with amenities, which include a private bathroom with Jacuzzi and tub; complimentary in-room movies; high-speed WiFi; indoor and outdoor therapy pools; sauna and steam room; and Four Seasons Gardens. The package also features daily gourmet breakfast for two; afternoon wine and cheese; gourmet dinner for two; and a special night-time snack. The prize has no expiration date.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and may be purchased from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 7 and 8 in SRMC's cafeteria. The winner will be drawn on Sept. 14.

Salem UMW to sell meat
SALEM --As they have for over 25 years, the Salem United Methodist Women (UMW) will be making meat loaves and ham loaves for the public. Orders must be placed by calling the church office at 330-337-9531 before Sept. 11. The baked loaves may be picked up in the church fellowship hall at 344 S. Broadway Ave. (south entrance) from 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 or 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 17. Cost is $7 for the 1-pound loaf or $14 for the 2-pound loaf. The proceeds will be used to further the UMW mission projects.
