LISBON -- Two men charged in unrelated cases involving child pornography appeared for sentencing on Friday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
Scott E. Arter, 51, West High Street, Lisbon, was sentenced by Judge C. Ashley Pike to 17 months in prison.
Assistant County Prosecutor Timothy McNicol said Arter was found to have close to 1,000 images on his computer, which he had downloaded from somewhere on the internet. He reportedly purchased the images, which include prepubescent children posing in states of nudity and engaging in sexual conduct. The images were found to be on the computer during the months of November and December of 2015.
Kevin S. Reid, 31, Seventh Street, Columbiana, was sentenced to community control, which will include an indefinite sentence Eastern Ohio Correctional Center.
McNicol said Reid had about 20 obscene videos, which also showed children engaging in various forms of sexual activity.
Arter had pleaded guilty to pandering in obscenities involving a minor, pandering in sexually oriented matter involving a minor and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance. His charges were two fourth-degree felony counts and one fifth-degree felony. Reid's charges were pandering in obscenities involving a minor and pandering in sexually oriented matter involving a minor, both fourth-degree felonies.
