-- Officers were called at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday to respond to the 500 block of Columbia Street to speak with a man about items taken from his rental property by a former female tenant. He had questions about how to get his property back without charging the female. He was told his options.
-- An alarm was reported at 10:47 a.m. Wednesday for Ricky's Pub on East State Street where a delivery driver found an open door. Officers searched the interior and property. No forced entry or foul play was found.
-- Martha Flory, 47, of U.S. Route 62, Beloit, was cited for failure to yield after her southbound vehicle on Rose Avenue stopped and then failed to yield to oncoming westbound traffic on East State Street, pulling into the intersection and striking a westbound vehicle driven by Todd Spielman, 55, of Plymouth Place, at 10:22 a.m. Wednesday.
-- A reckless operator was reported at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday in a white Kia in the 900 block of West State Street. An officer located the vehicle and the owner advised she had just spilled her coffee and that's why she went left of center.
-- A woman in the 400 block of North Ellsworth Avenue reported at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday that a man was drunk and being belligerent. Police found all parties involved were highly intoxicated and all were told to stay on their own side of the duplex.
-- A man reported a suspicious person at 3:21 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue where he had been driving and a male stepped towards the street and began yelling at him. Officers were able to locate the male in question who said that he did yell at the man but he was trying to alert him that a headlight was out on the vehicle.
-- Three female juveniles were taken into custody at 2:28 a.m. Wednesday for a curfew violation and released to a parent after a traffic stop at East State Street and Vine Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver was issued a written warning for failure to dim high beams.
-- A man at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday reported a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Aetna Street, saying a male drove by and flipped him off. The vehicle was sitting parked in an alley and officers made contact with the male driver and his passenger. They both said they did not have any contact with the man and were unsure why the complaint was made.
-- An officer stood by on East Sixth Street at 12:18 a.m. Wednesday while an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper conducted a vehicle search.
-- A city officer assisted Perry Township Police on a traffic stop at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Benton Road.
-- A female driver was given a verbal warning for a cracked windshield after a traffic stop at 9:46 p.m. Tuesday at East State Street and Rose Avenue. After being told she was free to go, the driver gave consent for a search, but nothing illegal was found.
-- A dog reported at large at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday on Ohio Avenue was not found.
-- An officer on patrol at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday stopped in the 100 block of West Pershing Street to speak to a male regarding another investigation and found him on the front porch, appearing to be suffering from an overdose. Fire department first responders and EMT Ambulance were summoned and the overdose reversal drug Narcan was administered. The male did regain consciousness and was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center. A syringe located at the scene was disposed of properly.
-- An anonymous person in the 400 block of South Madison Avenue called at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday to report finding a plastic baggie of possible drug paraphernalia in her front yard. An officer disposed of the material properly.
-- Dogs were reported in a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday. An officer found the vehicle with two dogs inside and all four windows rolled down. The dog owner was advised of the complaint.
-- Police investigated a drive-off reported at Smith Oil on East State Street at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. An officer made contact with the person involved who said the drive-off was in error and returned to pay for the fuel.
-- A man from New Waterford reported at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday that he believed two known people stole money and medication out of his car Sunday evening in the city. The incident is under investigation.
-- Police were asked at 4:58 p.m. Tuesday to check the well-being of two juveniles in the 2800 block of East State Street. Officers found the juveniles with guardians and everything was ok.
-- Theft asset protection from Walmart reported at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday that two males put merchandise in a backpack and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Asset protection recovered the items and provided officers with video surveillance footage. The incident is under investigation.
-- A Chevy Equinox was reported parked in violation with the left side to the curb and parked 3 feet from the curb at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of East Pershing Street. The vehicle was not there when police arrived.
-- A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday that an unknown person fled without paying for $12.61 worth of gasoline.
-- An anonymous person at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday dropped off a driver's license found laying on the ground in the 1700 block of East State Street. The owner will be contacted.
-- An officer on patrol in the city at 11 a.m. Tuesday saw a male with an active warrant out of Columbiana County and made contact with him, advising him of the warrant for possession of a dangerous drug and taking him into custody. The male, Hayden Miller, 25, of 1225 Somerset Drive, made the officer aware of drug paraphernalia and narcotics in his wallet and pants and he was transported to the police station, processed and turned over to a deputy from the Sheriff's Office. Charges are pending lab results for the narcotics.
-- Police responded to Papa John's on East State Street at 10:54 a.m. Tuesday regarding a male harassing a man. The man had received a text message on his cell phone. The male was located at his home and denied any contact with the man. Officers advised him to have no contact with him and he said he understood.
-- A dog was reported inside a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street at 10:11 a.m. Tuesday. The animal was not found.
-- An officer was flagged down at 10:08 a.m. Tuesday for possible animal neglect for a small puppy left outside without food or water in the 200 block of West Pershing Street. The owner told the officer there is a food and water dish right on the inside of her back door which she said is open when she is home. The puppy looked fine and appeared to be in good health.
-- A suspicious vehicle was reported parked on the east side of the rear lot at Salem High School at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday. The occupant told police he was working inside the school installing flooring and was on a short break.
-- Steven Branch, 25, of Newgarden Avenue, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 9:41 a.m. Tuesday on South Howard Avenue.
-- A man in the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue reported at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday that he just terminated an employee from the business and the female who was let go did not take it too well. She had property of the business that she's supposed to return by the end of the day. An officer said she would be contacted to assure the property is returned.
-- An officer on patrol at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday saw a large amount of smoke coming from the side of a residence in the 900 block of Sunset Drive. The homeowner said her husband had been burning branches in the back yard. Officers did not see any violations.
-- Police were asked at 8:57 a.m. Tuesday to check the well-being of a male sleeping in a vehicle in a lot on Southeast Boulevard. No one was found inside the vehicle.
-- A suspicious object was reported at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday on the Consumers National Bank property, 141 S. Ellsworth Ave. The object was found to be the bank's cigarette disposal can which had burned to the ground. Video was being reviewed.
-- A dog was reported at large in the area of Sharp Avenue and Prospect Street at 6:23 a.m. Tuesday. An officer attempted to catch the dog, but it ran off in between houses and the officer lost sight of it.
LISBON
-- Colin Sweeney, Summit Street, reported seeing two people looking in windows while returning home at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday. Sweeney was walking home from a friend's house when he saw two men -- one black and one white, both wearing sweatshirts with the hoods up -- get out of a vehicle and start looking in windows. Police searched the area but did not see the suspects or their vehicle.
-- Police responded to a possible fight on West Maple Street near South Lincoln Avenue at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday but did not find anyone about fighting or matching the description of the participants.
-- Kimberly Mutersbaugh, East Lincoln Way, reported Tuesday her prescription bottle of syboxin was missing, and the theft may have occurred at one of the four stores she was shopping at the day before.
COLUMBIANA
-- Taylor Raynes, 25, address not listed, was cited for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday near Creek Road. He was also cited for possession of marijuana and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Geary's Towing.
-- A Columbiana-Lisbon Road woman reported at 10:52 p.m. Tuesday someone attempted to break into her home while she was gone over the weekend.
