LISBON -- A Sept. 7 preliminary hearing was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Virgil K. Garretson, 27, North Beaver Street, Lisbon, charged with breaking and entering for allegedly using a key obtained from his grandmother, Judy McVay, to enter the home of a deceased man on Tuesday.
James E. Jackson, 51, Hawley Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,030, had his license suspended for a year, sentenced to three days in jail, ordered to attend a three-day counseling program and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and marked lanes.
A Sept. 5 preliminary hearing was set for Jedediah J. Hill, 32, Youngstown, charged with receiving stolen property after he was allegedly found sleeping in a stolen vehicle in Memorial Park off of Sunset Drive in Salem on Wednesday.
A Sept. 7 pretrial was set for Harold J. Brush III, Main Street, Wellsville, charged with theft by deception for allegedly collecting $90 in April, $138 in May and $100 in June from Gretchen Boley for insurance through Harold Brush Insurance and then sending her a letter stating her insurance had been canceled for nonpayment.
A Sept. 7 pretrial and preliminary hearing was set for Kristopher M. Rhodes, 34, Gus Mills, Pa., cited with OVI first offense, parking on the highway, fleeing and failure to comply, disrupting public services, vandalism and a seat belt violation. Rhodes allegedly rammed a highway patrol cruiser while attempting to escape.
A Sept. 5 pretrial was set for Desiree L. Ingledue, 23, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, cited with furnishing false information and driving under suspension. Ingledue allegedly posed as her sister to avoid the citation.
Alec J. Hamling, 32, Railroad Street, Kensington, was fined $280, credited with a day in jail, had his license suspended for six months and required 40 hours community service for failure to stop after and accident and failure to control.
Robert Thomas Bishop, 21, state Route 172, Lisbon, was fined $280 and required 20 hours community service for driving under suspension and speeding.
Eddie J. Robinson Jr., 23, Youngstown, was fined $250 and required 20 hours community service for driving under FRA suspension. A charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was dismissed.
Katelind E. Moore, 20, Clark Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and required 20 hours community service for driving under suspension.
Dale B. Stryffeler, 48, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding. A seat belt violation was dismissed.
An Oct. 17 pretrial was set for Carl J. Poynter, 31, Chestnut Grove Road, Salem, charged with OVI second offense, no helmet and domestic violence for allegedly grabbing Priscilla McCullough by the hair with both hands and throwing her to the ground on July 15.
A Nov. 2 pretrial was set for Ryan G. Odonnell, 26, Highland Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI first offense and two lights displayed.
An Oct. 10 pretrial was set for Matthew Duane Cowger, 21, New Philadelphia, cited with driving under FRA suspension and a turn signals violation.
An Oct. 12 pretrial was set for James E. Merino, 37, Grant Street, Salem, cited with use of an unauthorized plate.
An Oct. 12 sentencing hearing was set for Tracy L. Swinehart, 44, South Elm Street, Columbiana, who pleaded guilty to driving under suspension.
Melissa Blaine Smyth, 24, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, was fined $100 for speeding.
