-- Police responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 6:07 a.m. Thursday where the complainant received a letter wanting to buy his house, and the sender would pay cash and no other agency would be used. Officers followed up on the return address and it was a customer mailbox at the UPS Store. The complainant later found a neighbor received a similar letter but from another name. The incident clearly appears to be a scam and the complainant advised he would not contact the individual.
-- Police responded to the 1800 block of Cleveland Street at 7:31 a.m. Thursday where the complainant advised the rear window of their vehicle had been shattered overnight.
-- At 7:53 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a report of a theft from an unlocked vehicle with items removed.
-- At 9:29 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 2400 block of East State Street to assist Goshen Township police locate a man who left without checking with his family. Police stood by till Goshen police arrived.
-- At 9:45 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where the complainant advised her daughter had been calling and harassing her over personal issues since she got out of the hospital, and wanted documentation.
-- At 10:17 a.m Thursday, police were requested to check an address for a female with an outstanding warrant. While enroute a person matching the description was observed and her identity confirmed as the wanted person. Annette L. Reitz, 1315 E. State St., was taken into custody for illegal use of a benefit program, theft F-5, and theft M-1. She was turned over to a sheriff deputy and taken to the Columbiana County jail.
-- At 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street for a report of reckless operation and were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- Police responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 12:15 p.m. Thursday and checked a residence where suspicious activity was reported. A man there said he was allowed to be there and was watching the residence while the family was away.
-- Police responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 1:08 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised she had to block Instagram messages from a known woman due to her constantly receiving messages that included inappropriate pictures. The pictures were not of the complainant but the comments the woman was making depicted them as being of the complainant. Contact will be attempted with the other woman to have the problem resolved.
-- At 1:42 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 2100 block of Monroe Street to deliver a message but were unable to contact anyone there.
-- Police responded to the 1100 block of Benton Road at 1:56 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised of a resident having a bank account compromised by a possible family member. The incident is under investigation.
-- At 3:01 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1200 block of East Sixth Street where the complainant advised his daughter was walking through the parking lot and believed an unknown male juvenile struck her vehicle leaving the lot. There was moderate damage to her vehicle and the incident is under investigation.
-- At 5:12 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue to assist the Columbiana County sheriff in looking for a wanted man. There was no one home.
-- A complainant from the 1000 block of Newgarden Avenue was on station at 5:17 p.m. Thursday advising her ex-boyfriend of over a year ago was still continuously using her address as his own. He was still receiving mail and it's becoming a problem. The complainant said she was going to advise the post office of the problem.
-- Police responded to the 500 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:47 p.m. Thursday for a disabled vehicle. Due to the proximity of the complainant's residence, officers were able to help push the vehicle back to her driveway.
-- Police served an outstanding warrant on Dale A. Cramer, 933 N. Ellsworth Ave., at 5:59 p.m. Thursday for fraud, insufficient funds-checks, and released him to a Columbiana County deputy.
-- Police responded to the overpass at 6:51 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man who may have jumped over the side when walking westbound. The complainant did not advise where on the bridge the man jumped from. Police and firefighters searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.
-- Police responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 7:16 p.m. Thursday regarding a civil issue, an eviction notice, issued by the Columbiana County sheriff.
-- At 11:08 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 600 block of Jennings Avenue for a loud person's report and advised residents to keep the television down. The resident advised the guests would be quieter.
-- At 3:05 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of West 12th Street for a medical emergency and an elderly woman was being tended to and was transported to the hospital.
LISBON
-- Zach Strub, West Washington Street, reported at 3:13 a.m. Friday someone was knocking on his door again. He said he did not see anyone this time but that it is an ongoing problem. Police checked the area but found no one.
-- Anthony Brelitich, Glasgow Road, Salineville, reported at 5 p.m. Thursday he was threatened by a man he knows while at Dollar General.
PERRY TWP.
-- Police responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:39 a.m. Friday for a report of a prowler. The complainant advised she was in the business during closed hours when she heard a loud banging coming from a window. Police checked the outside and searched the building and no one was found or were there signs of force entry. Once police and the complainant felt everything was OK police cleared the scene.
-- While on patrol at 12:20 a.m. Friday police located a suspicious vehicle near Egypt and Painter roads, parked on the side of the road with two male subjects. One informed the officer filming a video for a video-sharing website. Since they were both over 18 and the car was not on private property police cleared the scene.
-- Police responded to th 1100 block of Prospect Street at 7:09 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised his truck was backed into and the person who did it took off. There was minimal damage and photos were taken. The complainant advised that someone in a nearby apartment saw it and that person said it was a red SUV and the driver is believed to live in the same apartment complex. The person was advised to call police if the vehicle returned. It did and information gathered the driver was advised of the seriousness of leaving an accident no matter how minor it may be. A report number was issued for the complainant's insurance company.
-- At 4:22 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1100 block of W. Prospect St. for a report of a refrigerator being taken from a residence. The complainants said a broken refrigerator was placed by the garbage after the landlord never came to fix it and obtained another one from a family member. The complainants were concerned about losing their rent deposit from the landlord and the person who removed the refrigerator was located and was going to make restitution with the complainant or landlord.
-- At 12:53 a.m. Thursday, a passerby advised of a fight in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Depot Road. A man advised his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend arrived at his place of work with another man and started an altercation with him. They were gone before police arrived and the man had minor injuries to his chest and knees but claimed to have fallen in the parking lot on his own. He did not want a report of the incident or to pursue the matter. Police spoke to the other man involved who had minor injuries to his elbows and also didn't want to pursue the matter, but did claim to have been assaulted.
-- At 8:07 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to South Lincoln Avenue at Southridge Drive for a report of a trash bag in the roadway and removed it.
-- Police responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday where the clerk advised a person had left their ID on the counter sometime in the morning. Police recovered the license and placed it in the police department for safe keeping and an attempt will be made to contact the person.
LEETONIA
-- Police responded to 100 block of East Main Street in Washingtonville at 6:02 a.m. Thursday. Dispatch advised that they had a Leetonia emergency worker at the residence for an opiod overdose and were unable to make contact with the person. A Columbiana County deputy was on the scene along with Leetonia EMS that confirmed that they were safe. Leetonia EMS also advised the radio they were provided with malfunctioned and were unable to contact the dispatcher. EMS advised that everything was secure and no further assistance was needed.

-- At 10:43 a.m. Tuesday, Constable Dan Valentine was advised by a resident in the 37000 block of Butcher Road that a person she knows keeps calling and texting her against he wishes and is spreading untruthful information.
