-- A suspicious vehicle was reported at 3:01 a.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue, but was not found.
-- An officer was flagged down at 2:52 a.m. Thursday by a resident in the 100 block of East Third Street who reported a possum on their front porch. The officer was unable to get the animal off the porch. He advised the homeowner to check in the morning and if the animal was still there to set a trap.
-- A runaway juvenile was reported at 1:19 a.m. Thursday by the parents of a 15-year-old who said their son ran away from home after an argument. The parents said they checked several of their houses where the juvenile might be but they were unable to locate him. Officers located the boy at a friend's house before he was entered into the system as missing. The parents were told to contact juvenile court if they wanted to file unruly charges.
-- Police responded to Circle K East, 1125 E. State St., for a report of a man behaving suspiciously at 11:48 p.m. Wednesday. He was no longer there when police arrived. An employee of the store said the man may have stolen an item before leaving. An officer was able to identify the person and it will be investigated if something was stolen. The store planned to check surveillance footage.
-- Suspicious activity was reported at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of East Third Street where a man said a neighboring resident had been coming on his property lately causing problems. An officer spoke to the neighbor and told them to stay off the property.
-- A suspicious vehicle was reported at Woodland Avenue and Oak Street at 10:09 p.m. Wednesday. An officer arrived and made contact with the occupants who claimed to be visiting friends in the area. They gave consent to search the vehicle but nothing of significance was located.
-- A driver was given a verbal warning for a traffic violation after a stop at 9:13 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North Howard Avenue. The driver gave consent for a search of the vehicle, but nothing of significance was located.
-- An open door was located at a location in the 900 block of South Broadway Avenue after an alarm at 7:03 p.m. wednesday. The building was cleared and nothing out of the ordinary was found. A keyholder responded.
-- Police responded to the 1900 block of Southeast Boulevard for a domestic in progress at 5:48 p.m. Wednesday. Both people said they got into a disagreement over a cell phone and said nothing physical occurred and no threats of harm were made. The male left.
-- A man spoke with an officer at 5:26 p.m. Wednesday regarding items purchased being possibly stolen. The matter will be investigated.
-- A woman from Pearce Circle came to the police station at 4:49 p.m. Wednesday to report seeing an adult male inside his vehicle yell and hit a child's seat with the child inside the seat Tuesday at Get Go gas station on East State Street. She provided a license plate number and the complaint was under investigation.
-- A woman in the 100 block of Hawley Avenue reported at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday that someone stole two bicycles out of her garage.
-- Officers at 2:19 p.m. Wednesday saw an unoccupied vehicle parked on the deadend of Butcher Road, checked the vehicle and found nothing suspicious.
-- An officer at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday checked on a possible overdosing female at the east end of the city in the 2800 block of East State Street. The woman was found to be tired from working overnight. No drug abuse was detected.
-- Amer Bleibel, 28, of 1630 Westview Drive, was charged with domestic violence after police were called to the 1300 block of Westview at 11:42 a.m. Wednesday for a verbal dispute that turned physical between a husband and wife.
-- An officer at 10:44 a.m. Wednesday responded to Get Go gas station on East State Street where a woman reported someone known to her took an item from the store without rendering payment. She did not want to pursue charges against the man but she did not want him to return.
-- A dispute was reported at 7:39 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of West Wilson Street where a resident of the home in question said everything was fine.
LEETONIA
-- James Lee Copley, 51, Ridge Street, Leetonia, was charged with obstruction of official business, resisting arrest, reckless operation and a stop sign violation after attempting to elude a police officer and failing to comply with orders Wednesday night. Sgt. Richard Glidden observed Copley operating his vehicle recklessly and make an abrupt turn from Columbia Street onto Church Street at 8:24 p.m. Copley allegedly reached speeds well over the speed limit and failed to stop at several stops signs while traveling from Church Street to Home Street back to Columbia Street, nearly colliding with another vehicle, and again to Church Street before pulling into a driveway at 731 Cherry Fork Avenue. As Glidden exiting his vehicle, Copley refused to comply with his orders to remain in his vehicle, screaming at Glidden while entering the home and instructing the homeowner to deal with the issue. After speaking with the homeowner, Glidden determined Copley had left the home. A search of the area revealed Copley in a wooded area. When Glidden attempted to speak with Copley, who was known to be violent during previous conflicts with the Leetonia Police Department, Copley began approaching Glidden and refused to stop when told to do so while screaming profanities at him. Copley eventually complied when threatened with a Taser. A search of Copley's vehicle revealed no illegal substances and he was transported to the Columbiana County Jail without further incident.
-- Officers responded to the West State Street area at 11:25 a.m. Thursday in reference to dogs running loose. The officers found the boxers in the front yard of a Main Street home, but was unable to make contact with the homeowner. The dogs' owner was later found at a family member's home on Honey Lane and given a verbal warning. She returned home and let the dogs inside without incident.
LISBON
-- Corbin Whittaker asked at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday for an officer to accompany him to a house he had been kicked out of so he could retrieve his belongings. Arrangements were made for the parties to meet at the unidentified house at 8 p.m.
