— Megan Laura of Texas asked deputies on Thursday to check on a friend from Salem Grange Road in Salem Township named Peggy Rea, who she had not heard from in a long time. After doing some research, deputies were able to tell Laura that Rea moved to Florida for health reasons.

— Randy Puckett, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 10:16 p.m. Friday his neighbor Melissa Doyle and her boyfriend are being evicted and he overheard a conversation between the two of them. Puckett said he heard them say they were going to punch him and that they feel like starting a grease fire on his trailer. Another neighbor recently did experience a grease fire at his trailer.

— Sydney Davis, Carbon Hill Road, East Palestine, reported at 7:18 p.m. Friday her neighbors Steve Barr and Miranda McFerson had some friends and their children over to their house and she saw one of the friends’ children throwing something into another neighbor’s driveway. Davis told the child not to do that and the child’s father came out and began yelling at her that if Davis has a problem she could handle it with him and she would not like how he would handle it.

— Rachel Nightengale, Y and O Road, East Liverpool, reported at 3:43 p.m. Friday Jackie Irons came to her home and stole a horse. Nightengale reported she bought two mares from Irons and was in the process of paying for a male horse. Irons told deputies she repossessed one of her horses from the Nightengales and was planning to take both mares and the newborn horse, but did not have a trailer so she only took the one. Deputies asked Irons to see the contract, which Irons said she could not locate it. Deputies asked if the contract states the Nightengales own the two mares, which Irons confirms it does. When asked why she took the mare, Irons said the Nightengales requested she take the mare instead of the male. She was told to return the mare.

— Barbara Graham of the Butler Mobile City, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday Jeremy Ellinger was texting her and saying some weird things about not finding his cat and the big spiders eating it. Deputies know about Ellinger’s medical history and talked to him about not drinking while taking his medications. He agreed to go to bed after looking for the cat for a little while longer.

— Curtis Tharp, Columbiana-Waterford Road, Columbiana, reported at 2:41 a.m. Tuesday someone was knocking and trying to ring the doorbell at his home. Deputies checked the area, but did not find anyone around the exterior of the house. Tharp said he heard someone knocking lightly on the front door and then attempting to ring the doorbell, which did not work. He was not expecting anyone and he looked out the bedroom window of his son’s room and did not see any vehicles in the driveway or anyone out front. A cigarette which had recently burned out was found sitting on the floor of the front porch.

— A resident at a home on Scott Drive in Knox Township reported she wanted a man removed at 8:49 p.m. Sunday. Darlene Sarchione told deputies she wanted Thomas Castilloux to go. He said he could not get hold of anyone to give him a ride. Sarchione agreed she would give Castilloux a ride to Alliance.

— Kenneth Cook, no address listed, reported at 1:49 a.m. Tuesday someone may have stolen a vehicle from the Feed and Sing Restaurant, state Route 14, Washingtonville. The vehicle had been found in the ditch on South Egypt Road, Salem. Perry Township and Goshen Township police were there with Cook when deputies arrived. Cook said he was at the restaurant and then left with his girlfriend, leaving his vehicle at the restaurant with the keys inside. When he returned a short time later to get the vehicle, it was gone. Cook was highly intoxicated, but claimed he did not drive his vehicle. Cook said it was possible his brother took the vehicle and his brother had permission to drive it. The Highway Patrol is handling the investigation of the crash.

— A man in the Twin Oaks Mobile Home Park was reportedly threatening suicide at 7:31 a.m. Monday. Deputies spoke to Brennen Boyd, who said he did not want to harm himself and he and his girlfriend were just having relationship problems. Boyd allowed Brittany Riddle to take possession of his firearm for the day. He refused to be transported for treatment.

— Alan G. Eckert, state Route 164, Leetonia, reported at 11:59 a.m. Monday his neighbor, Kyle Melott has several animals. Eckert did some landscaping and seeded an area of his lawn, but Melott’s chickens have been coming over, tearing up the mulch and eating the grass seed. Eckert said he has done it three times now only to have it torn up and eaten by the chickens. Melott put up a fence after Eckert talked to him, but the chickens just walk around the end of it in Eckert’s yard. Additionally, Melott’s goats allegedly have eaten some of Eckert’s plants and his cow stands next to the property line and bellows for hours.

— Deputies were called to an unknown disturbance on Riffle Road at 9:49 p.m. Sunday. Dawn and Frank Wells, Riffle Road, Elkrun Township, reported they were just having problems and Frank Wells agreed to leave for the night.
