SALEM
-- An officer on patrol at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday saw a large amount of water in the street near the intersection of Maple and Franklin and followed the source back to Mound and Washington where a cap was missing from the top of a water pipe in the street.The leak appeared to be slow, so a note was left for the water department.
-- An officer at 10:09 p.m. Wednesday saw an Audi sedan parked in the lot off of Sunset Boulevard at Waterworth Memorial Park after the park was closed. The officer made contact with two male juveniles who were advised of park hours and left.
-- A fight was reported in progress in the Walmart parking lot at 8:01 p.m. Wednesday involving several females. All parties had left before police arrived. Officers checked video surveillance in an attempt to identify participants.
-- A hit/skip involving a 2016 Chevy Malibu belonging to Patrick Ross of Leetonia was reported at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday on East State Street where Debbie Ross had parked the vehicle facing west. While the rear driver side door was open and she was retrieving something from the back seat, an unknown red vehicle traveling west sideswiped the door and left. The door sustained functional damage. No injury was reported.
-- Police were called at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue for a dispute. A man who lives in an upstairs apartment said the female who lives in the downstairs apartment wanted to place a lock on the door to the communal basement to prevent him from getting access. Officers spoke with the female who was advised she could not lock him out of the communal basement. Due to the two having multiple disputes during the day, they were told to stay away from each other for the evening.
-- K-9 Argo and Patrolman Steve Larosa assisted Columbiana Police on a traffic stop at 5:21 p.m. Wednesday, with K-9 Argo indicating to the presence of a narcotic odor coming from the truck. Officers searched the truck and located narcotics.
-- A caller at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday reported people screaming behind their residence. Officers spoke with the people who said the person left the residence with a cable box and they wanted it back. It was determined the cable box belonged to the person. No crime was committed.
-- A 911 hangup call was reported in the 1400 block of Jennings Avenue Wednesday, but no one was found home.
-- A caller in the 500 block of East State Street reported a juvenile problem at 2:31 p.m. Wednesday, saying two female juveniles continue to mess with items near the doorway of the store as they walk past and the juveniles will drop or throw items near the doorway. Police were unable to make contact with the juveniles.
-- Solicitors were reported at 2:27 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Homewood Avenue, but were not found in the area.
-- Ashlee Webber, 29, of Franklin Avenue, was cited for failure to yield after her eastbound vehicle on West Wilson Street stopped for a stop sign and pulled out into the right of way of a southbound vehicle on Sharp and was struck at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday. The other vehicle was driven by Sarah Bobby, 22, of Columbiana. No injuries were reported.
-- A suspicious vehicle was reported at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday parked in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard. Police found nothing suspicious other than the vehicle being parked at an angle The owner could not be found.
-- A verbal dispute was reported at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Franklin where a woman said her son got into an argument with his girlfriend. The girlfriend said her boyfriend got mad at her and yelled at her because his mother owed him $10 and wouldn't give him the money. He left but police spoke with him by phone and he said nothing physical happened and the dispute was verbal over the money, which his girlfriend told him not to worry about. Officers told him to stay away from the residence for the rest of the day or until he cools down. He was staying at a friend's house for the day.
-- Police were asked to check the well-being of a male in the 1900 block of Fairview Court Wednesday morning. When contacted, the male said he was ok.
-- Police responded at 8:37 a.m. Wednesday to an ongoing neighbor dispute in the 600 block of Vine Avenue where a woman said she has a flower pot that was knocked over by a vehicle sometime overnight. Officers spoke with another female who said she didn't know who owns the vehicle that hit the flower pot because she was not home.
LEETONIA
-- A Somer Street resident reported on station with her 16-year-old son at 8:59 a.m. Thursday that her son had been bitten by a dog at a Lisbon Street home Dec. 2 and that she had taken him to the Salem hospital for treatment during the week. The dog's owner was advised to keep the dog contained for approximately 10 days according to health department regulations.
LISBON
-- Mike Liggitt, Sherman Street, reported at noon Wednesday he was being harassed by his ex-girlfriend.
-- Police were called to the 400 block of West Washington Street at 1:26 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police spoke with a woman who said that a man in his early 30s and wearing a Carhartt jacket and brown tennis shoes was seen walking near her home and that he stole some empty wooden crates at a neighboring home. She said a pickup truck drove by not long after that but that she did not see any other suspicious vehicles.
COLUMBIANA
-- A woman reported at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday a man was at a vacant home on East Woodland Avenue. Police checked and found it was the property owner.
SALEM TWP.
-- Donald Nichols Jr., Salmar Drive, Salem, reported at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday he was supposed to receive a package on Monday and when the package did not arrive he contacted the company and was informed the package was actually delivered a week earlier on Nov. 27. He believes it may have been stolen after someone dropped it off.
