-- A clerk at Smith Oil, in the 900 block of East State Street, reported at 1:56 p.m. Tuesday that an unknown person in a black cherry truck left without paying for $49.30 worth of gas.
-- An anonymous person spoke with an officer at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Oak Street about some concerns about the edge of the road due to people parking in the curb lawn. Officers will speak to the people in question and have the street department check on the roadway.
-- Police responded at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday to Salem Regional Medical Center, 1995 E. State St., to assist staff with a patient. Officers stood by until the issue was resolved.
-- A man in the 1400 block of Salem Parkway reported at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday that the son of one of the owners to the business came to the property and got into an argument with him, got angry and slammed the door to his office and broke the trim around the door. He wanted a report on file and did not want to press any charges at this time.
-- A man at 10:28 a.m. Tuesday dropped off a license plate he found lying in the 100 block of South Cunningham Road. The owner of the plate contacted police and said since the plate expired, officers could destroy it for him.
-- Officers responded to a traffic complaint at 9:16 a.m. Tuesday at West 16th Street and North Ellsworth Avenue and spoke to construction crew members who said they had the road on West 16th blocked momentarily to fuel their equipment.
-- A caller at 2:22 a.m. Tuesday reported a suspicious male walking around people's vehicles in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The person could not be found.
-- Jack Flory, 25, of Goshen Road, was cited for possession of marijuana and failure to dim high beams after a traffic stop at 11:56 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue for an equipment violation. K-9 Simon was requested to respond and indicated to the presence of a narcotic odor. Upon performing a probable cause search, officers did locate marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
-- An officer on patrol at 11:23 p.m. Monday saw a male leaning up against a light pole in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue and was concerned for his well-being. The officer found the male was ok and was using the Wifi from a business.
-- Bryce Walker, 19, of Brittany Lane, was cited for possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 9:52 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of West State Street for two equipment violations. Officers smelled contraband during the stop and K-9 Simon indicated to the presence of a narcotic odor. The vehicle had contraband inside and it was on a passenger. The driver was given a warning for the equipment violations. Walker, the passenger, was cited.
-- Police responded to Salem Regional Medical Center at 5:52 p.m. Monday for a report of a disorderly patient. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
-- A caller at 5:22 p.m. Monday reported a male passed out in a vehicle who was reported to have a medical problem. Upon checking at the property in the 1100 block of East State Street, it was found the male was sleeping and had no medical problems.
-- A reckless operator was reported at 4:16 p.m. Monday in the area of East Third Street and Union, but no traffic violations were observed.
-- A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of East State Street at 3:24 p.m. Monday. Police learned the vehicle was having a mechanical problem.
-- Police were asked at 3:22 p.m. Monday to conduct a well-being check for a person on Lexington Avenue having thoughts of harming himself. The person was voluntarily transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG to seek assistance.
-- Police received a report at 10:04 a.m. Monday that a school bus driver witnessed a violation within the city of Salem. The vehicle registration provided did not exist in the system, therefore officers were unable to follow up.
-- Police were dispatched at 10 a.m. Monday to the 700 block of South Lundy Avenue for a possible protection order violation. A woman said the person was contacting her via text messaging and she had a protection order against the person. Officers looked over the court documents, which were not a protection order. She was told this was telecommunications harassment and police would make a report.
COLUMBIANA
-- Larue Chapman, Lisbon Street, reported at 11:58 a.m. Monday someone made a fraudulent purchase on her credit card.
-- Police were called to a South Main Street home at 11:49 p.m. Monday for a report of a verbal argument. The parties agreed to separate for the night. At 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, police returned to the home for a report that a woman had fallen down the steps. Upon investigation, Raymond Raine, 24, Columbiana, was arrested for domestic violence.
LISBON
-- Harold and Jane Adams, state Route 517, reported Monday fraud occurred with their AT&T account, resulting in their internet service being turned off as well as in the loss of their Direct TV and landline services. Police determined someone had gained access to their account, but AT&T would not speak to police.
-- Mark Hall, East Lincoln Way, reported Tuesday being the victim of identity theft, with someone using the information to open an account with Sprint and the account was now delinquent. Hall found out when a collections agency called him.
-- An elderly man reportedly tripped and fell on his face while walking on the bike trail about noon Monday. Police went to his home on Sunset Drive but the man declined medical treatment.
-- Police were called to a home on East Chestnut Street at noon Monday and remained until an ambulance arrived to transport her to a local hospital.
SALEM TWP.
-- Peter Horvath, 62, Leetonia, was westbound on Old state Route 344 at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday and slid on a patch of ice. His truck slid into the ditch. Horvath was taken by Leetonia EMS with possible injuries.
LEETONIA
-- An officer responded to a two-vehicle crash on Walnut Street at 2:24 p.m. Monday and found that a motorist had struck a parked vehicle while attempting to back into a parking space. No injuries were reported and no citation issued.
-- An officer responded with the Leetonia Fire Department to a fire alarm at Small Wonders on Walnut Street at 9:32 a.m. Tuesday and found that one of the children had pulled the fire alarm when going outside to play.
