SALEM REPORTS
— Police responded at 4:53 a.m. Saturday to the area of Highland Avenue and Quaker Lane for a male passed out on a lawn. Officers confirmed the male was stable and took him back home. He was given a warning for public intoxication.
— Police were called at 3:19 a.m. Saturday to the 1200 block of East State Street for suspicious activity, with an officer locating a female on the ground at the rear of the residence crying. She said she was fine, refused to identify herself and declined any assistance.
— A caller at 3:01 a.m. Saturday reported a postal truck with the lights on at the post office on Penn Avenue and no one around. An officer located the truck, but it was locked so the lights could not be turned off. Postal security was contacted and said they would attempt to get someone to the scene to turn the lights off.
— Police checked a business in the 100 block of Elm Avenue at 2:50 a.m. Saturday after seeing a vehicle parked in the lot. Everything was found secure.
— An officer on foot patrol at 2:17 a.m. Saturday found two keys in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue.
— Officers on patrol at 1:59 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue heard a loud fight, responded and separated the people. Due to the intoxication level of everyone involved, police were unsure who started the altercation. One male was bleeding but refused any medical treatment. Nobody wanted to pursue charges.
— Police were called to the 900 block of Liberty Avenue at 1:43 a.m. Saturday for a dispute/person to be removed. A male came to the residence and was not welcome. He agreed to leave and a taxi was called.
— A driver was issued a verbal warning for a violation after a traffic stop at 1:33 a.m. Saturday at East State Street near North Lundy Avenue. The driver gave consent for a search but police did not locate anything illegal inside the vehicle.
— A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in a lot in the 1000 block of East State Street at 1:30 a.m. Saturday for an extended time, but was not found.
— An officer on patrol at 12:31 a.m. Saturday stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. K-9 Simon was deployed and indicated to the presence of a narcotic odor. A small amount of contraband was recovered and destroyed. The driver was given a verbal warning.
— An intoxicated person was reported in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:36 p.m. Friday. He was found and told to have a sober driver take him home for the night.
— Police were called at 11:34 p.m. Friday to Smith Oil in the 900 block of East State Street for a parking issue. Officers cleared the lot.
— A resident in the 200 block of East Fourth Street called at 11:31 p.m. Friday to report a bright light shining on the residence. Police could not locate the source of the complaint.
— A runaway juvenile was reported at 9:51 p.m. Friday from the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard. The juvenile was located and returned to the parents.
— An intoxicated male was reported at 9:47 p.m. Friday on South Broadway Avenue, but was not found.
— Police were called at 8:49 p.m. Friday to the lot next to the water towers on Roosevelt for a report of suspicious vehicle/persons. Contact was made with several people near the vehicle who said they were waiting for a friend. There were told there was no parking there and to move along.
— A small hang bag was left behind unintentionally in the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 8:23 p.m. Friday and taken to the station.
— A juvenile was reported in the road in the 300 block of West Pershing Street at 7:49 p.m. Friday. Police spoke to a parent.
— Police were called at 7:39 p.m. Friday to the Masonic Temple parking lot in the 700 block of East State Street for a hit/skip. Two females saw a gray Ford F-150 pickup strike a parked unoccupied green Honda and leave without stopping. The driver of the Honda showed up and there was minor damage to the front door side bumper and front door side fender. Police located the pickup in the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue where the male juvenile driver said he didn’t believe he struck the Honda. Fresh minor damage was observed on the rear passenger side tire rim. All were told to contact their insurance companies.
— A woman reported at 7:27 p.m. Friday that an alarm was coming from the basement she was cleaning. Officers discovered it was a malfunctioning water alarm.
— A caller at 7:02 p.m. Friday reported a dog in a vehicle with no windows down for an extended time in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street. Officers located the vehicle which did have the windows cracked and a bowl of water inside.
— An officer at 6:57 p.m. Friday saw a male with an older vehicle with historical plates talking loudly to a crowd of people and juveniles in the Smith Oil parking lot on East State Street. He was offering rides to people in exchange for gas money. Officers cautioned the driver about his activity expecially since he had juveniles who were getting into his vehicle. The juveniles were told to move along and he was advised about offering rides to people he did not know.
— Officers spoke at 6:47 p.m. Friday to some juveniles who brought their mini bike up and were reportedly riding it on the sidewalks and in the parking lot at Smith Oil on East State Street. They were told to keep the mini bike on their own property. They said they would push it home.
— A possible theft was reported at 6:14 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Monroe Avenue. Items had been taken from the parking garage by other tenants. A parking space belonged to tenant who were new to the apartment and did not know others used the same space. The matter will be looked into further.
— A woman on Vine Avenue reported at 4:58 p.m. Friday that she let her friend use her vehicle the last two years and now she wants the vehicle back. Her friend told her the vehicle needs $2,000 in repairs and she did not believe him. Officers spoke to the friend on Rose who showed them the vehicle and said it broke down Friday and had to be towed home. Officers told the woman she could have the vehicle towed to her residence.
— Deven Neal, 20, of Fairview Court, was cited for driving under suspension and cracked windshield after a traffic stop at 4:38 p.m. Friday on West Wilson Street at the railroad tracks. K-9 Simon responded and indicated to a narcotic odor. Contraband was located inside the vehicle and will be sent for testing with additional charges pending. The license plates were confiscated per the order of the state and the vehicle was towed.
— Police were called for a problem in the municipal lot near Timberlanes at 3:31 p.m. Friday. Super Cruise event staff said a person gave them a problem about moving their chairs to save spaces for parking. The lot was nearly full and spaces were not to be saved for others at that point. The problem was resolved before police arrived.
— A caller at 1:16 p.m. Friday reported a hit/skip in the 400 block of East State Street. Officers document any possible damage and the vehicle was towed as a traffic hazard.
— Officers observed a leaning utility pole and low hanging wire in the 200 block of Railroad Street. The fire department and Ohio Edison were contacted.
— A domestic in progress was reported at 10:43 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Cherry Street. Two people said nothing physical happened and they were just arguing and getting a little loud. They already made up.
— Garage sale signs were reported on telephone poles in the area of West State Street and Sharp Avenue at 7:40 a.m. Friday. Officers located the owner and she agreed to remove them.

COLUMBIANA REPORTS
— Someone dropped off a wallet at the police station at 8:17 a.m. Friday after it was found in the alley near Marathon Gas Station. The owner was contacted and the property turned over to him.
— A 16-year-old girl was taken into custody on a warrant at a Blueberry Drive address at 7:19 p.m. Friday. She was turned over to sheriff’s deputies, who took her to the Tobin Center.
— Police checked on a person at Circle K, North Main Street, at 3:26 a.m. Thursday.
— Columbiana Buick Olds reported at 4:03 p.m. Thursday someone was possibly committing fraud while renting a vehicle. Police found the actions not to be fraudulent or criminal, but more of a civil matter.
