-- A 13-year-old Salem boy was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Tobin detention center after police were called at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday to the 900 block of West Wilson Street for an unruly juvenile. A woman said her son was being violent towards her and her daughter. Officers spoke with the juvenile who was irate and screaming. He was arrested for closed fist punching his sister in the back and spitting on his mother.
-- Police were called at 1:01 p.m. Wednesday to Rose Avenue for a report of a burglary. A report of the same thing had been filed Saturday. A woman at the residence said no one got in and nothing was taken.
-- A woman in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue reported at 12:58 p.m. Wednesday that she was unhappy with the way children were being treated several houses down. Police spoke with the juveniles' mother and Children Services, whom the mother had called. No harm was observed to the children. Children Services was advised of the neighbor's complaint.
-- A license plate found in the 2700 block of East State Street at 11:39 a.m. Wednesday was placed in the police lost and found.
-- A backpack found in the area of Maple was brought to the police station at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday. The backpack contained a cell phone and a charger.
-- A male German Shepherd was reported at large in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:02 a.m. Wednesday, but was not found.
-- Police responded at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East 10th Street for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. A traffic stop was initiated on Lincoln near East State Street and the driver was not found to be intoxicated.
-- An alarm was reported at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Penn Avenue. The business was secure.
-- A written warning was issued to a driver during a traffic stop for traffic offenses at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday. K-9 Simon indicated to the odor of narcotics but nothing illegal was found during a search.
-- A vehicle parked in Waterworth Memorial Park at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday after closing was unoccupied with no occupants found in the area.
-- A search of a vehicle after a traffic stop at 10:21 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of West Third Street revealed no contraband.
-- Officers responded to Reilly Stadium at 9:01 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an intoxicated male stumbling in the parking lot. Officers made contact with the male who had an odor of alcoholic beverage about him. He appeared intoxicated and was given a ride home and told to stay inside for the evening.
-- A dirt bike without lights was seen on the railroad tracks on Newgarden Avenue at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday. Police searched the area, but did not find it.
-- A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday that someone driving a gray pickup paid for $10 worth of gas but pumped $25 worth and left without paying the difference.
-- Officers responded at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday to Centennial Park for a fight and a female down on the ground. No fight was observed but the female was having an asthma attack. Fire department first responders and KLG responded. The female refused transport. When asked if there was a fight, she said there was an altercation between two males and she stepped between them. Another witness said there was a fight but some of the females involved had left.
-- An alarm drop was reported at 8:09 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East State Street where police found an open door and checked the business, finding everything appeared normal. The keyholder responded and secured the door.
-- A wallet found in the area of Third Street and Hawley was turned over to police at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday.
-- Police responded at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday to the high school on East Sixth Street for a fight involving several people in a verbal altercation at a juvenile football practice. The people involved said an incident occurred a week ago that the administration had been made aware of and several parents were upset. A female advised her mother responded to the field due to being upset and arguments started to get more heated. The mother left to avoid further conflict. The females were advised the incident that happened last week would need to be handled by the administration. All parties said they would keep things civil and speak with the administration after practice.
-- An assault involving a juvenile was reported at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Ohio Avenue, but the victim was not at the residence. A message was left for the parties involved to respond to the police station to make a complaint.
-- Allan Mackall, 19, of Sell Road, Lisbon, was cited for a minor misdemeanor of possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on East Third Street at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday. K-9 Simon indicated to the presence of a narcotic odor, with contraband located inside the vehicle and on the occupants. The driver was given a written warning for the traffic violations. He and his parent/guardian were advised of pending charges in juvenile court. A second juvenile was released to a parent/guardian.
-- A domestic was reported in a vehicle at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday on North Lincoln Avenue and East Second Street. A male and female in a gold SUV had been southbound on Lincoln and were found in an alley next to Huntington Bank. Each party claimed the other struck him or her but there were no visible injuries. The female wanted to pursue charges. Information will be sent to the prosecutor for review.
-- A domestic dispute was reported at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Ohio Avenue. The parties reported having a verbal altercation but nothing physical occurred. The female was leaving for the evening with her child. All parties were told if officers had to return, they could face disorderly conduct charges.
-- A hit/skip was reported at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of East State Street where a male operating a silver Pontiac Grand Am with temporary tags struck a vehicle in the lot and fled when a bystander attempted to check the damage. Officers planned to check video surveillance in an attempt to identify the driver.
-- A possible phone scam was reported at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday by a woman on Southeast Boulevard. An officer confirmed it was a scam.
-- Police responded to the hospital parking lot at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday to speak with a vehicle owner about the hazards of leaving an animal in a motor vehicle on a hot day.
-- An officer on patrol at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of West Ninth Street spoke with a resident who may have been a victim of identity theft. He felt someone had access to his personal information. He was told to check with his financial institutions and the credit reporting agencies to make sure his identity was not stolen.
-- Police were called at 11:09 a.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of East Fourth Street for a verbal dispute between a male and female. Officers found the male cleaning the front porch and the female sitting in a chair on the porch. The report described the area as untidy with old food on plates on a table and a plate in the front yard with food still on it. The male said the female was agitating him and he was cleaning up her mess. There were no signs of anything physical taking place. Both were told to keep the peace. Officers planned to notify the health department about the unsanitary conditions.
-- Accidental damage was reported to a residence at 10:04 a.m. Tuesday in the city where a commercial business truck was parked in a driveway beside the area where a house was allegedly struck accidentally. A woman said she and her sister were downstairs at 7 a.m. when they heard and felt the collision, saying the truck in the driveway hit the home. Officers saw what appeared to be fresh damage to the truck and the house. At least four workers were on the scene but appeared reluctant to speak with officers and none could provide a clear story of what happened. One said their truck did not do the damage, but was not there when the incident allegedly occurred. The homeowner was told to contact her insurance company and her lawyer if she felt that was necessary.
-- Justin Perry, 39, of Youngstown Salem Road, was cited with assured clear distance ahead after his southbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue struck the rear of another southbound vehicle driven by Jhordan Murray, 27, of Stow, who had slowed to make a turn onto 11th Street at 9:56 a.m. Tuesday.
-- Police were called at 9:33 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Ellsworth Avenue and State Street for a building possibly hit by a vehicle. Officers arrived and noted that due to barriers in place, it would not be possible for a truck to strike a building in that area without major damage being done.
-- A legal guardian in the 600 block of Franklin reported at 8:36 a.m. Tuesday that a juvenile did not want to go to school. Officers spoke to the juvenile who then agreed to go to school.
-- An officer on patrol at 7:56 a.m. Tuesday saw someone lying on a picnic table in the pavilion at Centennial Park. Upon further checking, three people were sleeping in the pavilion. All were identified and officers left without incident.

-- Police were dispatched at 8:11 p.m. Tuesday to the 1400 block of Benton Road for a complaint about a neighbor mowing on the caller's property. The complainant was told there was no way for the police to decipher where the property lines begin and end without a surveyor being present.
-- A noise complaint was reported at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Benton Road where a man was asked politely to turn down his music. The music was turned down.
-- Police were contacted at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday about a possible spill on the road from a semi truck on state Route 45 at state Route 9. A small amount of unknown liquid was found, with the Ohio Department of Transportation contacted for cleanup.
-- Police, fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance responded at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday to the 900 block of Canterbury Lane for a call of a female who had fallen down. KLG had already been there and had the woman sitting on a chair claiming not to be injured. She refused transport and was evaluated at the scene.
LEETONIA
-- Police made a traffic at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday at state Route 344 at Homes Street for a marked lane violation and the driver, Kara Falkner, 47738 Calcutta Smithferry Road, East Liverpool, was driving under suspension and cited for that and a marked lane violation. The vehicle was towed.
-- Police made a traffic stop for an expired registration near the high school at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday and the driver, Michael B. Newbold, 95 High St., Leetonia, was also charged with OVI refusal and taken to the Lisbon highway patrol post for further testing where he also refused testing and he was transported to the county jail.
-- Police responded the 100 block of Walnut Street at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday and spoke with the parents of a juvenile at the school and was unable to make contact with them and left the scene.
-- At 9:17 a.m. Tuesday police responded to the Mennonite school on Chestnut Street regarding a 911 call that left the line open to the sheriff's department and spoke to the person who stated he accidentally called the number.
-- At 12:43 a.m. Wednesday, police observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner on high school property at 450 Walnut St. causing damage to school property. Tire marks were visible as straight and heading toward the soccer field with ruts and there was grass debris under the fenders of his truck. Brandon J. Roessler, 92 Oak St., Leetonia, was charged with reckless operation and failure to provide a driver's license. Photos were taken of the damage to the property.
-- Police received a call from a resident on Walnut Street on Monday to report a scam with the caller advising the complainant a warrant would be issued if he did not pay $2,000 to have it taken care of. He said the caller was of Indian origin, and the number which showed on his caller ID was to the police department. He did not pay the caller and was advised never to pay callers as warrants or legal issues are not handled through a phone conversation.

-- Anthony T. Santelli, 48, Warren, was arrested on a warrant through Girard following a traffic stop on state Route 46 north of city limits at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday.
-- K-9 Csuti was deployed for sniff for narcotics at Jet-O-Chem on Wardingly Drive at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday. No narcotics were found.
-- Julie Orto reported at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday a ring that was possibly stolen had been sold to Regal Jewelers in the city.
-- Selena Ramos, Columbia Street, Leetonia, reported at 10:32 a.m. Tuesday someone hit her car while it was parked at the Circle K in Columbiana.
-- JoAnn Garwood, Fairfield School Road, reported at 11:19 a.m. Monday someone opened a Columbia Gas account using her social security number.
