-- An officer responded at 6:19 p.m. Tuesday to a tree and wires down on Highland East Avenue. A tree from the corner of Highland West and Highland East fell on the power lines after being damaged during the storm. A homeowner in the 1200 block of Highland East said his garage sustained damage from the line being pulled from it. Ohio Edison responded.
-- The railroad crossing gate on South Lincoln Avenue was reported damaged at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday. One side of the gate broke off, with a lot of water laying on the road and tracks. Officers stood by for traffic control until Norfolk Southern could repair the gate.
-- A caller from the 1000 block of Elberon Avenue at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday reported seeing a male walk into a wooded area with a small child. Police located the male and the small child at their residence in the 800 block of Georgetown Road where it was found the father and son were walking through the woods instead of the busy roadway.
-- A large piece of wood or cement was reported at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday in the westbound lane of the four-lane bypass. Police checked the area and found a large foam seat on the road and removed it.
-- Officers responded at 8:03 p.m. Monday to Circle K South, 1827 S. Lincoln Ave., for a reported fight. Officers were told two of the females left in a white Ford Explorer, which was found and the females responded back to the store. Statements were taken from witnesses and all parties involved. The matter is under investigation.
SALEM
-- Loud music was reported coming from a garage in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 2:27 a.m. Wednesday, but was not found.
-- Police were dispatched at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday to Circle K East, 1125 E. State St., for a harassment report involving four males harassing a female clerk at the store. The clerk told police only one of the males was causing an issue and he left before police arrived. The female said the male made a derogatory comment regarding her sexual orientation which she took offense to. She told him not to return.
-- Police were called at 10:09 p.m. Tuesday to the 100 block of East Fourth Street to check the well-being of a female, who when contacted said she was ok.
-- Police were called at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday to the 1100 block of East State Street for a semi truck stuck in the road in the section that is closed. No semi was found.
-- A woman in the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue reported at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday that someone gave marijuana to her juvenile son. The son told police another male juvenile gave him marijuana while he was in Centennial Park earlier in the day and he told another adult female at a residence on Franklin and she disposed of the marijuana. He said he did not smoke it. Police told the woman to make sure her son stays away from the other juvenile and to call if any problems occur with the other juvenile.
--An elderly female in the 700 block of East Fifth Street reported at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday that her grandson would not give her keys back so she could leave after they had an argument. No physical violence occurred. The girlfriend of the grandson brought out the keys and the female left. Police also spoke with the grandson and his girlfriend who said there was an argument but nothing physical. The grandson advised his grandmother had the wrong keys but did not realize it. The parties were told to separate for the evening.
-- A man in the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue reported at 5:01 p.m. Tuesday that he thought someone may have been in his vehicle and garage.
-- A pair of eyeglasses were recovered from the street in the 1000 block of East State Street near Hawley at 4:37 p.m. Tuesday and placed in the police lost and found.
-- A woman from Canfield reported at 4:24 p.m. Tuesday that she runs a daycare in the 300 block of Cunningham Road and someone took her cell phone from her office. Police assisted her in tracking her phone to an address in the city. A female known to her picked up the phone by mistake and was already enroute to bring it back when she was located.
-- Police were called at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday to the parking lot of Stark Memorial Funeral Home for a hit/skip accident involving a pedestrian. A juvenile male said he was walking northbound through the intersection of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street when a silver sedan with Georgia plates which was eastbound on East Third Street ran the stop sign and struck the juvenile in the left leg. Fire department first responders and EMT came to the scene. The juvenile said it was a male driver. His mother responded and they refused treatment.
-- Police responded at 2:42 p.m. Tuesday to the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue to check the well-being of a female walking in the area. Officers located the female who was ok and just exercising.
-- Samson Crowl, 34, of 633 Cherry St., was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and taken to the Columbiana County jail after police were called to the 600 block of Cherry at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday for a male hitting himself and also having drug paraphernalia in his hand. Officers arrived and the male was observed attempting to hide an item in a vehicle. A syringe was recovered and he was taken into custody.
-- A woman in the 300 block of West Pershing Street reported at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday that sometime early in the morning, someone entered her home through an unlocked door and removed several items. The incident is under investigation.
-- A domestic was reported at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday on Buckeye Avenue where an unknown person called and said there was a lot of yelling and it appeared a male may have cut a female's tire. The female was with their daughter who told police this was an ongoing problem between her parents and she was tired of it. The female advised she was trying to leave and had to change the tire on her truck since her husband (father of their daughter) cut it. The husband denied it and said he was only trying to help her change the tire. The female left with the daughter and he said he would change the tire.
-- An unruly juvenile was reported at 7:33 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue, but left before police arrived. Officers were able to find him near the residence and returned him home.
LISBON
-- Joseph Long, West Lincoln Way, reported he wanted Scott Knight removed from his apartment at 12:17 p.m. Friday. When police arrived they found a group of people standing outside and Knight walking down the street. Long said Knight punched a hole in the door, punched the TV, pulled out dresser drawers and also shoved his brother, Lee Knight. Scott Knight admitted to police doing these things and then began flipping out and screaming while being questioned. Scott Knight, 20, was then arrested for domestic violence and once in the cruiser he began banging his head on the partition and kicking the door. He also allegedly threatened police Chief Mike Abraham. Police also took a statement from Long in anticipation of filing additional charges.
-- Kevin Byers, North Market Street, reported Tuesday having problems with his landlord, Richard Parrish. Police spoke with Parrish, who said he gave Byers notice he was going to treat the apartment for bed bugs. Police told Byers to gather what he needs before the extermination begins.
-- A barking dog complaint at 420 Maple St. was received at 10:51 a.m. Monday. Police said the dog ran onto the porch and began barking at the officer. Police returned the next day and were told by the owner the person who complained threatened to shoot his dog, so he turned it over to the county dog warden. This was confirmed by the dog warden's office. Police then went to the Frankford residence and told them it was inappropriate to threaten to shoot anyone's dog and if that were to occur the person responsible would be charged.
