SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— Lisa Burke, state Route 7, Rogers, reported at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday someone shot her cat last week. The cat died and when she went to bury it, she noticed it had a broken leg, which appeared to be from a gunshot. Burke said she heard the neighbors behind her on Sprucevale Road shooting last week.

— Daryl Holt, Cherry Street, Knox Township, reported at 8:59 a.m. Tuesday an excavating company was trespassing on her property, causing damage to her yard and creek area. The excavating company dug up the creek, making a 6-foot deep trench in the creek bed. She believed either the township or a local farmer had contracted the company to work on a ditch due to some excessive flooding.

— Ivan Snyder, Buffalo Road, Hanover Township, reported at 9:23 a.m. Tuesday someone’s mailbox post was in his driveway and the mailbox from that post was laying on the other side of the road and badly damaged. The mailbox belonged to a neighbor. Snyder also reported his Kimble trash can had been taken and it was found about 300 yards down the road with some minor scuffs on it.

— James M. Coffy, Camp Boulevard, Hanover Township, reported at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday for the past four months someone has been harassing him, making numerous calls to him from different numbers.

— A Salem-Alliance Road, Butler Township, resident reported at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday he is receiving harassing calls. On Tuesday he received an automated call from American Funding Group and when he pressed one to speak to a person, he explained to the person who answered it is illegal to solicit with automated phone calls. The man on the other end reportedly responded he hopes the fleas of a 1,000 camels attacks his crotch and then hung up. He then received a two calls from someone from a financing company, which came up Illinois and Alabama, but the caller stated he was from Manhattan.

— A Westville Lake Road, Knox Township, woman reported at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday her granddaughter was not listening to her. Deputies explained how to file unruly charges.

— Opal Andric, state Route 644, Franklin Township, reported that her 9 and 10-year-old daughters are with their father and he is passed out intoxicated. Andric said one of the girls contacted her about how to make food and one of the girls is on medication, so she explained to her when and how to take it in case they could not wake their father up. The father’s live-in partner reportedly became upset due to him being intoxicated and left with her own children. Andric contacted the live-in partner, who agreed to go back and pick up Andric’s children and meet her.

— Dogs running at large were reported at 9:17 a.m. Dec. 30 on Pritchard Avenue, Lisbon. Deputies spoke to Amanda Wilson, who said her dogs are always tied up. However, one of the two dogs were not tied up when deputies arrived. She noted one of the children may have let the dog out.

— Michael Hover, East Third Street, reported at 2:45 p.m. Monday while he was incarcerated between Oct. 10 and Jan. 7, someone stole his cell phone out of the property in booking. On Dec. 14 Hover was transferred from the county jail to Lorain Correctional and the following day Hover had someone go to the jail to retrieve his property. On Dec. 15 it was discovered his cell phone was not there. Other inmates have filed numerous other complaints about their items being stolen while in the secured property room.
