-- Police were dispatched at 4:59 a.m. Thursday to Snyder Road for a semi truck stuck in the road after trying to turn around. Davidson's Towing removed the semi.
-- A man in the 1200 block of Depot Road reported at 9:31 p.m. Wednesday that a neighbor was out in the driveway revving the engine of a truck before leaving. He said the neighbor is doing things on purpose to harass him and his girlfriend and believed that he damaged the yard on the left side of the driveway while leaving in the truck. The officer did not observe any damage to the yard and could not make contact with the neighbor at the time of the report.
-- An officer responded at 7:56 p.m. Wednesday to Benton Road near Garfield Road for an anonymous call about an accident/disabled vehicle. The officer found that a vehicle missed turning onto Garfield Road due to the fog and became stuck in the yard in the 1300 block of Benton Road. No damage was reported. The officer stood by for traffic control until Sinsley's Towing could pull the vehicle from the yard.
-- A car/deer accident was reported at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday on the U.S. Route 62 four-lane just east of North Ellsworth Avenue. A vehicle driven by Mary Stewart, 64, of Salem, was westbound when it struck the deer and sustained disabling damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No citation was issued.
SALEM
-- Police made two arrests for warrants and also seized suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 2:14 a.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of East State Street. Officers on patrol recognized a vehicle driven by a female with a warrant and confirmed the warrant through Columbiana County, then made the stop. The female driver identified as Ashley House, 30, of 285 W. Pershing St., was asked to step out of the vehicle, was taken into custody on the warrant for wrongful entrustment and placed in the back of a patrol car. The male passenger, identified as Joshua Stewart, 30, of Lake Milton, also had a warrant out of Columbiana County for failure to appear on a charge of driving under suspension and was taken into custody. The report said Stewart told police he had drugs on his person and inside the vehicle. Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and recovered a box full of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Stewart was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending against him pending lab results. Both Stewart and House were processed at the station and turned over to a sheriff's deputy and taken to jail. House called a friend who picked up the vehicle.
-- Loud persons were reported at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of East Third Street, but officers didn't hear anyone upon arrival. A tenant was contacted and told to keep his voice down if he was being loud.
-- Loud music was reported at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Newgarden Avenue. The homeowner turned the music off for the night.
-- Police responded to the area of Aetna and South Broadway at 10:23 p.m. Wednesday for a report of juveniles running down the street and yelling. They were not found.
-- Police were called at 10:07 p.m. Wednesday to check on the welfare of an adult and juvenile after hearing about possible deplorable living conditions in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue. Nobody was home.
-- A man came to the police station at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday to report the theft of his tablet on Tuesday at a home in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue. He said he left his tablet device at the address and learned a known male had taken his tablet. A name and location for the suspect was provided to police. The man did not want to file charges, but wanted his tablet back. Officers made contact with the suspect in the 1300 block of East State Street and retrieved the tablet, which was picked up by the owner at the police station.
-- Police responded at 6:51 p.m. Wednesday to a residence regarding an assault that took place at Centennial Park where a male juvenile was struck in the face several times by another male juvenile. During the incident, an adult male also struck the victim in the face. Police made contact with the juvenile aggressor who was placed in custody and transported to the Tobin juvenile detention center. Charges are pending for the adult aggressor.
-- Officers checked on a 911 call at 5 p.m. Wednesday from the 1000 block of Franklin Avenue. They talked to several parties, but no one had called 911. All appeared in order.
-- A wallet found in Columbiana was turned over to Salem police at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday. Salem police notified Columbiana and a Columbiana officer responded to pick up the wallet.
-- Police responded at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday to Dunkin' Donuts, 855 W. State St., for a small bag of marijuana found in the store that was turned over to officers. The item was brought to the station and properly disposed.
-- Police were called at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of Olive Street to check the well-being of a resident. The homeowner was contacted and told that a family member had not heard from her in a few days. She was provided with a phone number to reach the family member.
LISBON
-- James L.M. Davisson, 23, of East Liverpool, was cited for driving left of center and marijuana possession following a traffic stop at the intersection of High and Beaver streets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. After pulling Michael over going left of center, the officer detected the distinct odor of marijuana in the vehicle. Davisson then turned over a baggie of marijuana, and the officer found used THC oil cartridges and two unopened cartridges in the vehicle.
EAST PALESTINE
-- Police were called to the Circle K on North Market Street at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday for a report that an adult was caught purchasing tobacco products for a 16-year-old. The child was turned over to her mother and an investigation is pending.
-- Police found a mountain bicycle near the restrooms at the community center in the park. The bike was taken back to the police station for safe keeping.
SALEM TWP.
-- Tara Blackburn, Leetonia, reported at 1 p.m. Thursday her boyfriend showed up at her house the night before and starting causing problems with the father of her child and she does not want him to return.
