-- A North Ellsworth Avenue woman reported 6:19 p.m. Friday she was denied her court-ordered visitation rights with her children by the child's father.
-- William B. Royal, 21, West Middletown Road, Salem, was charged with theft at 6:23 p.m. Friday after allegedly shoplifting $73 in merchandise at the Salem Walmart, scanning the items and leaving the store without rendering payment.
-- Police and firefighters responded to Waterworth Dog Park at 6:51 p.m. Friday where there were lines down and a tree on fire. Ohio Edison was notified.
-- A 2004 Jeep driven by Justin M. Rebuck, 16, South Lincoln Avenue, backed into a 2001 Chevy Cavalier, driven by Julian Dillard, 17, East 12th Street, in the Taco Bell drive through at 6:57 p.m. Friday reportedly after Rebuck forgot something at the pickup window. There was no damage to the Jeep and minor damage to the front of Dillard's car.
-- A North Ellsworth Avenue woman reported lines down where a tree fell on them and onto a vehicle at 7:26 p.m. Friday. Police waited until Ohio Edison arrived.
-- Someone reported a red Chevy truck went left of center, off the roadway and took out two mailboxes on North Lincoln Avenue, at 8:30 p.m. Friday. The accident was determined to be in Perry Township.
-- One woman had purchased a baby doll from another person for $50, but the original owner of the doll claimed the agreement was for the other woman to pay $150 in installments and they were having a dispute over the doll at 8:42 p.m. Friday. They eventually decided to give the doll back to the original owner.
-- A man went to the police station about an issue he was having at 9:12 p.m. Friday and police gave him some options.
-- A child ran away from a case worker at 10:46 p.m. Friday. A description was given and someone located the child a short time later.
-- Police checked on an unoccupied vehicle and motorcycle parked near a pavilion in Centennial Park after hours at 10:59 p.m. Friday. Police did not find anyone around the vehicles.
-- A suspicious man was reported standing in the drive through at Arby's at 11:20 p.m. Friday. Police found the man behind the business and he said he was just trying to get some food and go home. He left.
-- A fight was reported near Walmart at 11:56 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area, but did not find anything.
-- A woman told police she believed her phone was inside a home on South Lundy Avenue at 12:21 a.m. Saturday because they were tracking it using GPS. Police spoke with the person inside the home, who said she did have the phone and had found it in the bathroom at work. It was returned to the owner.
-- A woman was reported passed out and having seizures at 12:25 a.m. Saturday at a business at the Flying Pig Saloon. Medical personnel assisted her and then she refused further medical treatment.
-- A New Garden Avenue woman reported at 1:54 a.m. Saturday she wanted her live-in boyfriend removed. Police explained the residency laws and the couple decided to try to remain civil for the night.
-- Someone reported a woman screaming in the area of Rose Avenue and East Fifth Street at 2:24 a.m. Saturday. Police found a small gathering in someone's garage and a woman said she yelled after winning a game. Police warned them to keep the noise down.
-- A Rose Avenue woman reported at 4:51 a.m. Saturday her sister has been staying with her for many months and she wants her removed. Police explained the eviction process.
-- A suspicious man asking strange questions was reported in the area of South Lundy Avenue at 4:44 p.m. Friday. Police found the man and warned him to cease.
-- A dog was reported left inside a vehicle with the windows cracked at 2900 E. State St., at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The owner of the dog was loading the vehicle when police arrived and the vehicle was running with the air conditioning on. The dog appeared fine.
-- A theft incident was reported at a Lexington Avenue address at 1:47 p.m. Friday. Information and photos were gathered and the matter remains under investigation.
-- A West Pershing Street woman reported at 1:36 p.m. Friday she bought an item off another person and now that person wanted the item back, threatening to pursue charges if the item was not returned. Police explained it was a civil dispute.
-- A man reportedly threatened another man in Centennial Park at 12:29 p.m. Friday. The man told police he was sitting in the park having lunch when a man walked over, sat down and said he had been living in the park for 100 years and wanted the man eating his lunch to leave. The man then threatened to harm him, before getting up, throwing his belongings to the ground and running behind a couple of homes near the park. Police found the man and after speaking to him, sent him to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
-- Police were unable to locate a suspicious vehicle in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Allen Road at 12:18 p.m. Friday.
-- Two dogs were reported running loose in the area of Centennial Park at 11:58 a.m. Friday. The humane officer was called, who was able to leash both dogs.
-- A Hawley Avenue woman reported at 11:38 a.m. Friday she let a man use her vehicle and she was messaged the next day stating it had been wrecked and towed. The man then stopped replying when the owner was trying to get additional information about what happened.
-- Christie Menough, 32, East Eighth Street, Salem, was northbound on North Ellsworth Avenue, at 10:22 a.m. Friday when the Kia she was driving was struck by an eastbound PT Cruiser driven by Robert B. Faulkner, 57, East School Street, who was on West Fourth Street and failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection. Faulkner was cited with failure to yield. No injuries were reported.
-- The Salem Veterinary Clinic, N. Ellsworth Ave., reported a child entering the business without any pants on. The boy had left before police arrived, but police spoke to his mother, who said she would talk to him about it.
-- Smith Oil reported at 6:57 a.m. Friday a woman drove away without paying for gas. Police located her and told her to return to the gas station.
-- A man was reported passed out in his vehicle near the intersection of North Lincoln Avenue and East Third Street at 5:07 a.m. Friday. The man told police he was tired and fell asleep. Police suggested he find a parking lot or pull off the roadway to rest.
-- A 9mm pistol was reported stolen from an East Fifth Street home at 12:27 a.m. Friday. The owner suggested it may have been taken by a homeless man, who breaks into their home sometimes and sleeps on the couch. The homeless man had lived there some time back and knew about the gun.
-- Someone called 911 from a North Lundy Avenue home at 10:25 p.m. Thursday and dispatchers could hear arguing. Police spoke to a man at the home, who said he and his friend were at the apartment when three other men showed up and wanted to drink with them. He did not know them and asked them to leave. At that point, one man assaulted two of the men and all three of them left.
-- Jessica L. Cross, 37, West Oregon Avenue, Sebring, turned left onto East Pershing Street at 4:25 p.m. Thursday and then realized the road was closed. She attempted to back up and struck the front left side of a vehicle driven by Lisa Greathouse, 42, Seventh Avenue, East Liverpool, sitting at the intersection of South Union Avenue and East Pershing Street. Moderate damage was done to Greathouse's vehicle and minor damage to Cross' vehicle. Cross was cited with starting and backing unsafely.
