Ross is boss for Columbiana at Valley

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana junior Seth Ross captured medalist honors for the first time in leading the Clippers past East Palestine, 157-183, Tuesday at Valley Golf Club.

Ross led the Clippers with a 37. Jared Wilson followed with a 38, Nate Whitehead 40 and Tyler Andersen 42.

The Clippers improve to 10-0 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play and will play Lisbon at 4 p.m. today at Twin Springs.

For East Palestine, Nick Yarosz had a 40, Noah Sneddon 42, Justin Spratt 47 and Nick Welch 54.

Columbiana 189,

Jackson-Milton 196

NORTH JACKSON –Columbiana’s girls beat Jackson-Milton 189-196 on Tuesday at Meander Golf Club.

For Columbiana (9-3), Taylor Bucci had a 41, Jessica Himes 49, Abby Rambo 49 and Abbi Hawkins 50.

Hannah Pietro had a 41 to lead the Bluejays.

Columbiana plays Warren JFK on Thursday at Trumbull Country Club.

Wellsville quad

EAST LIVERPOOL — United’s boys golf team defeated Wellsville, Heartland and East Liverpool Christian on Tuesday at Cedar Hills.

The Eagles had a 188, Tigers 198, Lions 220 and Warriors 258.

For United, Jacob Himes had a 42, Shane Black 47, Brant Hahlen 49 and Matthew Courtney 50.

For Wellsville, Shawn Osborn had a 47, Luke Green 48, Tres Click 48 and Seth Kerner 55.

For Heartland, Nick Jessop had a 46, Conner MacIntosh 51, Devin Sirota 59 and Ben Jessop 64.

For East Liverpool Christian, Owen Bouscher had a 58, Anthony Sachs 64, Wesley Bouscher 66 and Katie Forsyth 70.

Wellsville and United play on Thursday at the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference at Salem Hills.

Lowellville 228

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local’s girls golf team set a team record score in a 163-228 win over Lowellville on Tuesday at Turkana.

For Beaver Local, Carsyn Hoppel, Reed McGeehan and Hayley Phillips all had 40s. Bekah Kyler added a 43.

Marina Mangine had a 51 for the Rockets.

Jackson-Milton tri

NORTH JACKSON — Springfield won a tri-match with Sebring and Jackson-Milton on Tuesday at Lakeside.

Springfield had a 193, Jackson-Milton 209 and Sebring 233.

For Springfield, Madison Horvath had a 42, Braden Phillips 49, Dylan Schiadoa 51 and Coby Fellows 51.

For Sebring, Collin Baia had a 52, Joey Clark 55, Camden Green 62 and Andrew Lamp 64.

Joey Williams led Jackson-Milton with a 48.

Sebring is 0-18.
