COLUMBIANA -- The Columbiana Athletic Hall of Fame held its 22nd induction on Jan. 20 with new inductees Mike Bogdan, Krystle Crittenden Graham, Drew Garrod, Kurt Kyle, Katrena Skaggs Davidson, and Bruce Wolfe:
Mike Bogdan
Class of 1983
Mike was a four-year letter winner in golf. He and the golf team represented Columbiana High School in three straight state tournaments as the team finished sixth, fifth, and third, respectively. As a junior, Mike finished as the state runner-up, falling short of the state title by one stroke. He was selected to the 1981 Columbiana County first team. As the team captain his senior year, Mike led the team with medalist honors in 10 events, including the sectional tournament (75). During his junior year, Mike led the Clippers with a 38.5-stroke average and was named to the All-County golf team. Following graduation, Mike attended the University of Toledo, earning a bachelor's degree in finance. Currently, he serves as Chief Financial Officer at Devonshire REIT II, Inc., a real estate investment trust located near Toledo. He and his wife, Karen reside in Maumee. They have one son Jacob, who lives in nearby Toledo with his wife, Andrea.

Krystle Crittenden
Graham
Class of 2001
Krystle was a four-year letter winner in softball, three-year letter winner in volleyball and one year in basketball. Softball was by far Krystle's favorite sport and she excelled. As the cleanup hitter all four years, she led the team, for her career, in batting average (.480), slugging percentage (.693) and hits (142). Her 100 career RBIs led the team three of the four years. In 296 at bats, she struck out only 13 times. Playing second bse and shortstop, she finished with a .906 fielding percentage.
Krystle received postseason accolades all four years, including first-team All Northeast Ohio Inland District her freshman and senior years, honorable mention All-Columbiana County her freshman and sophomore years, first-team Tri-County League her junior and senior years and second-team All-Ohio her senior year. Krystle attended Ohio University earning a bachelor of science degree in biology. She is also a graduate of Lake Erie College in Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Graham completed her internship and general psychiatry residency at Medical College of Georgia. Presently, she is director of residency education and training for the Sandra and Leon Levine Psychiatry Residency Program at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.. She resides in Charlette with her husband, Kevin, their 2-year-old daughter, Kesler.

Drew Garrod
Class of 1999
Drew was a four-year letter winner in football. He was the only junior to start both ways on the 1997 Tri-County League championship team. The versatile Garrod played three positions on offense and defense. His junior year, he had 1272 all-purpose yards and surpassed that as a senior with 1,489. Drew led the team in receiving his junior (31 for 440 yards) and senior seasons (15 for 203 yards) and punt returns (31 for 440 yards and 15 for 203). During his senior year he led the team with 15 touchdowns and 12 kick returns for 358 yards. Defensively, his junior year, Drew had 40 tackles, one interceptio, and two fumble recoveries. After high school, Drew continued his football at Carnegie Mellon University where he was a three-year starter at running back. He was ranked second in NCAA Division III by averaging 31 yards per kickoff return. Drew is a Manufacturing Engineer in Ashville, N.C. He and his wife Autumn have three children; Zanthias 9, Zaphira 7, and Zavriel 5.

Kurt Kyle
Class of 1983
Kurt was a three-year letter winner in baseball, two-year letter winner in football and a one-year letter winner in basketball and track. Baseball, however, was his sport of choice. As a sophomore, he led the JV team in runs and RBIs. He also saw action on the varsity team that went 14-6 and qualified for state. Kurt had a .571 on base average. He pinched hit in the state semifinal where he reached base on a walk. During his junior year, Kurt started right field. The Clippers were sectional champs that year with a 15-3 record. Kurt had a .319 batting average and a .515 on base average. which was third on the team. He led the team in walks, was fourth in runs, and fourth in stolen bases. He had the fewest strike outs that year with two in 66 plate appearances. As a senior, Kurt again started right field on a Clipper team that was sectional runner-up with an 11-8 record. He was second in runs scored, third in walks, and third in stolen bases going 8-8. Kurt had a career .453 on base percentage and was 15-for-15 in stolen bases.
Following graduation, he attended Youngstown State University earning a bachelor's degree in advertising art. He worked as a sales and marketing coordinator for McNeil NRM in Akron. Later, he was an outside sales representative for Kobelco Stewart Bolling in Hudson until his death in 1994. Kurt enjoyed playing rugby for Akron Rugby Club and also raced stock cars in from 1990-1994.

Katrena Skaggs
Davidson
Class of 1981
Katrena was a four-year letter winner in track and a member of three relays that qualified for the state meet. These included the 4 x 100 her freshman year as an alternate, the 4 x 100 her sophomore year running the third leg, and the 4 x 400 her junior year running the second leg. That team placed sixth at state.
Katrena and her teammates set three school records that still stand today in the 4 x 100, 4 x 200 and 4 x 400. Her teammates on the sprint relays are Debbie Dain Ricthey, Karin Dain Weingart, and Jane Kimpel Logan. The 4 x 400 record team is LeAnn Wilms Cygan, Jane Kimpel Logan, and Mindy Weeden. Katrena is a Youngstown State University graduate with a BS/BA degree in accounting, an MBA and is a CPA. She is the controller at Youngstown State University. Katrena is married to her high school sweetheart, Jeff. They have four grown children; Kristina, Jeffrey, Audrey, and Mitchell. All four were active Clipper athletes. Her grandson, Dalton, is future Clipper.

Bruce Wolfe
Baseball Coach,
1990-2003
Bruce always had high expectations for his teams. His baseball coaching record at Columbiana was 220-108-3. His teams won 10 Tri-County League championships in 1990-1992, 1994-1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003 and eight sectional titles. In 1994 , the Clippers were sectional and district champs, regional runners-up and ranked 10h in the Associated Press state poll. In 1995, the team repeated as sectional and district champs. Bruce was Coach of the Year in 1999 as voted by the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association. He also had terms as president and vice President of the association. As a math teacher, he taught at Columbiana High School for 27 years.
After retiring, Bruce moved to Winter Haven, Fla., with his wife of 49 years, Christine. He is the public address announcer for the Winter Haven baseball program. Bruce and Christine have three grown children, Garrett, Carleen, and Kyle, and five granchildren.
