Both Mr. and Mrs. Herbkersman worked until their retirements at the Kenmar/Ethan Allen Furniture Factory in East Palestine. Howard also performed magic programs professionally with Sarah as his assistant. He was a 1949 graduate of the Chavez Studio of Magic in Los Angeles, Calif.

The couple has two children, Neil (Beatrice) Herbkersman of Columbiana and June (Doug) McLaughlin of Negley; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and one great-great-granddaughter. Howard resides at Whispering Pines Village in Columbiana and Sarah at Sunrise of Poland.
