CeramFab adding 45 manufacturing jobs to East Palestine locale

EAST PALESTINE–State Sen. Michael Rulli commended the announcement by JobsOhio and Team NEO that CeramFab will add 45 new manufacturing jobs to East Palestine.

CeramFab is owned by CeramSource Inc. of East Brunswick, N.J. and is a sister company of WYG Refractories.

“Good paying manufacturing jobs are the lifeblood of northeast Ohio, and I am proud of the work JobsOhio and companies like CeramFab, Inc. are doing to revitalize manufacturing in our communities,”said Rulli, a Republican from Salem.

Mark McTrustry, village manager, advised that CeramFab intends to have the open positions available by the end of 2021. McTrustry noted that the airport, steel mills and other businesses of that nature make CeramFab’s choice of location beneficial.

There will be two major manufacturing operations in East Palestine according to Edwin Wing, president of CeramFab / WYG Refractories. One location will be manufacturing ceramic blankets and the other will be manufacturing refractory brick. The products manufactured will have high temperature application uses.

Both McTrustry and East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway are looking forward to the employment opportunities current residents will have and the possibility of drawing people to the community.

“We have a bunch of rental properties available, there’s a bunch of homes that could be filled with good people and its a wonderful little community that we have here,” Conaway said.

Conaway believes that CeramFab will create a great boost to the local economy and give a clear reflection of the valuable, hardworking people in the community. He believes the properties that CeramFab has taken over are already looking much better.

“That’s one of the best looking buildings we have in town,” remarked Conaway

State Representative Tim Ginter announced his excitement seeing the collaboration between CeramFab/WYG Refractories, JobsOhio, Team NEO and Columbiana County Port Authority.

“During these times of economic difficulty, I am thankful to JobsOhio and the involved manufacturing companies for collaborating to foster workforce development in Ohio,” he said.
