Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stouffer Realty acquires Birch Realty

EAST LIVERPOOL — Ohio’s leading real estate company, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stouffer Realty Services has acquired Birch Realty.

Licensed since 1991, Birch Realty was founded in 1999 by Janet Birch in East Liverpool, Ohio. As an East Liverpool native, Birch grew her company from the ground up and provided exceptional customer service to clientele for 30 years. Birch has served as the President of the Beaver Creek Area Realtors Association numerous times. In addition, she won the Realtor of the Year Award in 2002 and an award for most homes sold in 2004. Birch serves on the Economic Development Committee for the Wellsville Chamber of Commerce and on the Save Our Homes Task Force for County Treasurer Nick Barborak.

“Joining forces with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stouffer Realty Services has been such a pleasant experience for my team and I thus far. We already love the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices name and can grow even more with the local support of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stouffer Realty,” said Birch. “I am thankful for the support throughout this transition and would like to thank Robin Whitehair for everything she has done for Susan and I during our transition into the Salem office.”

Birch is joined by team member Susan Mowery, who has been with Birch Realty since 2011. Susan brings a wealth of knowledge and over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Mowery claims “Birch Realty was a small town, knowledgeable and personalized business where I experienced the larger of my 35 years in real estate. We still are, but working with Stouffer Realty provides us with many more benefits for our customers. I am excited to see how business progresses with moving forward.”

Kevin M. Leonard, President of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stouffer Realty, is excited about the skillset Birch Realtors will bring. “Having been in business for over 22 years, Janet and Susan offer expert local market knowledge and experience that is unmatched, we are excited to have them in our growing organization,” said Leonard.

Tom Hosack, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty CEO and President is thrilled about the merger. “Clearly we have a very similar business model to Birch Realty,” said Hosack. “This joining of forces lets us leverage the power of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices name even more.”

The union adds to the brokerage superpower of more than 1,800 agents and 54 offices serving 22 counties in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Stouffer Realty and The Preferred Realty’s family of companies is the number one independent franchise in the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network and the number 22 company across the entire industry for sales units based on REALTrends data.
