Capturing a glimpse of Salem’s history

With the boyhood home of famed watercolorist Charles E. Burchfield as his composition subject, accomplished artist Christopher Leeper of Canfield displayed his skills Sunday during the Salem Art/Artisan Festival. The third annual event was a celebration of Burchfield and local artisans. Leeper is a member of the adjunct faculty at Youngstown State University. His work has been featured in books and publications. He has authored a book and illustrated children’s books for the Smithsonian and the African Wildlife Foundation. (Salem News photo by J.D.
