CANFIELD -- Theresa Bosel, the Columbiana County recorder, was scheduled for an arraignment on the aggravated vehicular homicide/manslaughter charge, but she did not appear in the Mahoning County Municipal Court in Canfield Friday due to her attorney Ed Hartwig's previous filing of a written not guilty plea.

Bosel, 48, is charged with left of center, failure to wear a seat belt and the second-degree misdemeanor vehicular homicide/ manslaughter charge in the death of Cecil A. Chamberlain following an accident on Western Reserve Road on Aug. 19.

Reports from the State Highway Patrol indicate Bosel went left of center in her Jeep Wrangler, striking a GMC Terrain operated by Drema Kessel, 70, of Salem. The Wrangler also struck a Ford Fusion, which was behind the Terrain, and which was driven by Chamberlain.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman, while his wife, Roberta Chamberlain was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Kessel and her passenger, Felecia Detchon, 25, Salem, were not injured.

Besides the not guilty plea, Hartwig has also filed a motion to have Bosel's medical history sealed and a standard motion for discovery of evidence.

Bosel's next scheduled court appearance is a pretrial, scheduled for Oct. 1.
