BELOIT --The West Branch school board this week approved a contract that could keep the schools superintendent through three more years.
The board approved a contract with Timothy Saxton as superintendent effective Aug. 1, 2020 through July 31, 2022, with an option for an addition year based on the completion of goals agreed upon by Saxton and the board.
Saxton is paid on an administrative scale and his salary was not provided as of Friday. He is in his fourth year as superintendent of the district.
In other business, the board granted a supplemental contract to Abbie Millard for Lead Mentor and Sarah Jones as a mentor for the 2019-2020 school year.
The board also approved as after school tutors for the 2019-2020 school year (not to exceed five hours per week) Kelly Passmore, Alysea Benner, Lisa Lucente, Lydia Althouse, Deborah Erbs, Timothy Cooper, Abbie Millard, Amy Eddins, Rachael Basalla and Penny DeShields.
Additionally the board approved Brandon Patterson as a freshman boys basketball volunteer assistant coach for the 2019-2020 school year.
