SALEM -- A Lisbon man died and a Salem woman suffered serious injuries after a head-on collision at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 62, just east of Duck Creek Road in Goshen Township.
The Canfield post of the highway patrol identified the deceased as Stefan M. Guy, 33, of Lisbon, who was pronounced dead at Salem Regional Medical Center after being transported there from the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
According to the patrol, Guy was driving a GMC Sierra east on U.S. Route 62 when he went left of center, striking a westbound Ford F-150 driven by Lisa Cranmer, 49, of Salem, head-on.
Cranmer was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown in serious condition. The patrol had not received an update on her condition as of Friday afternoon.
Goshen Township police assisted at the scene and Damascus Fire/EMT also responded.
The accident remains under investigation.
