LISBON -- Columbiana County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who chased a 12-year-old girl before being warded off by the family dog in the area of Columbiana-Waterford Road on Saturday.
Deputies were notified on Monday that as the daughter was heading down the driveway toward her father's shop, a pickup truck stopped at the end of the driveway. A man got out of the truck and started running toward the child in the driveway.
She started running away and the dog attacked the man, knocking him to the ground.
The father reported to deputies that the "dog got him pretty good."
The man got back to the Ford pickup and took off.
Chief Deputy Jen Tucker said Tuesday the man has been described as between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9, with shaggy brown hair. He had been in an older pickup truck, which was two toned, a rust and maroon color. Additionally, it was described as dated between 1973 and 1976 and was heading from Columbiana toward New Waterford.
The matter was not reported immediately, but after the father found the neighbors had a video of the vehicle, he believed there was enough information for deputies to work with to find the man.
