Lisbon travel brochure unveiled
LISBON — Tourists visiting the Lisbon area have a new travel brochure to aid them on where to eat, what to do, and what to see when they tour the village.
The new “Welcome to Lisbon” brochure began being made available to tourists and village residents last week.
The brochure was created by the Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce, with funding from the Columbiana County Park District and the village of Lisbon. It updates a previous one that was published two years ago.
“This brochure project was a great collaborative effort,” said LaDawn Whitman who heads the local Chamber of Commerce. “We hope that this brochure encourages people to stay, eat and shop in our area as we have so much to offer.”
The brochure features a detailed map of Lisbon’s downtown as well as the Greenway Trail and various points of interest, all within a 10-mile radius of the village.
“The Park District was happy to work with the Chamber and the village to promote tourism and economic development,” said Tom Butch, who heads the County Park District board of directors.
The park district oversees the Greenway Trail, which runs from Lisbon north to Washingtonville. Two of the district’s parks – Scenic Vista and Hellbender Bluff – are within minutes of the village.
“We’re so lucky to be on the Greenway Trail, and we were recently named a trail town for the North Country Trail as well,” said Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson. “We’re attracting more and more tourists, and this brochure will guide them to see all we have to offer.”
Free copies are available at the Chamber of Commerce office, the Park District office and Village Hall.
