Donation of $12,502 made toward building of Firestone Dog Park

The Restoration and Beautification Committee of Columbiana (R&B) has announced BirdFish Brewing Company, Blue Ribbon Chiropractic, Lamppost Farm and their partners have donated $12,502 toward the building of Firestone Dog Park, putting the dollars raised at more than half the $80,000 fundraising goal.

“We would like to thank everyone who came out and participated in our fundraiser this past weekend for the Firestone Dog Park project,” explained Josh Dunn of BirdFish Brewing Company. “With the donation of $12,502, the FDP Campaign is over their halfway mark at $45,670.”

The funds were raised by local businesses and community participation in three events June 12:

— What’s Crackin’ Columbiana!? Dog Park Fundraiser at BirdFish hosted by Dr. Lisa Braden/Blue Ribbon Chiropractic and BirdFish Brewing Company

— West-Beer-Minister Dog Show at BirdFish hosted by Dr. Lisa Braden/Blue Ribbon Chiropractic and BirdFish Brewing Company

— Logs & Dogs hosted by Lamppost Farm

“I am thankful for the opportunity to work with BirdFish Brewing Company on the beer collaboration that led to us creating a fundraising event. The Firestone Dog Park will be an asset to the community to allow dogs to play, socialize and exercise,” said Dr. Lisa Braden of Blue Ribbon Chiropractic. “As an animal chiropractor that is exactly what I tell all my clients their dogs need! Blue Ribbon Chiropractic is excited to participate in future Firestone Dog Park fundraisers.”

The Firestone Dog Park is part of R&B’s ongoing commitment to Harvey S. Firestone’s legacy of giving back and is designed to provide dogs a welcoming and safe place to run, jump and play:

— 1-acre fenced area strategically located near the existing Walking Trail in historic Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park

— Natural setting with shade trees and space to run free

— Double gates for safety

— Separate runs for small and large dogs

— Water stations, park benches and dog depots/waste stations

“Our deepest thanks to BirdFish Brewing Company, Blue Ribbon Chiropractic and all those who made Saturday’s activities a success,” said FDP Committee Member Mary Ann Green. “This past weekend’s events showcase what’s truly special about Columbiana – community – Firestone Dog Park is truly being built for our community by our community.”
