LISBON -- The murder victim in the Lisbon area home owned by Nicholas Ieropoli still has not been identified by the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office, but the man who committed suicide near the van in Unity Township has been identified as Jesse Ieropoli.
Sheriff Brian McLaughlin said Tuesday he is still awaiting the results of the autopsy from the County Coroner's Office regarding the positive identification and the manner of the homicide, but his office already have met with family members regarding the case.
The body of Jesse Ieropoli, 31, was found by another man along with a handgun in a wooded area off Jimtown Road near the van belonging to Nicholas Ieropoli.
When deputies went to notify Nicholas Ieropoli of the death, the body of another man was found at the house located at 10984 state Route 45 south of Lisbon on Sunday.
Jesse Ieropoli, although once considered a suspect by former Prosecutor Robert Herron, was never charged in the shooting death of his mother, Sherry Ieropoli, who died in August 2008 at the same home. However, Jesse Ieropoli has faced other charges and in 2017 he was sentenced to three years in prison for felony charges of illegal manufacturing of drugs, illegal assembly or possession and two counts of possession of drugs.
He also was convicted of a misdemeanor count of aggravated menacing for threatening his father in 2011.
