The Brightside Project, located in Salem and serving our entire area, held its "Bright Easter" Saturday. Children along with parents and grandparents were lined up eager to get in and pick an Easter basket from the over 350 baskets. Baskets were available based on age groups, from 3-to-18. The Easter Bunny was on hand. There was face-painting and each child received a sack lunch. All baskets and food were donated items. Volunteers helped the children pick out baskets and assisted with other needs. Groups helping out included the Salem High School National Honor Society, the Salem Community Pantry and the Premier Bank staff. Walmart donated the baskets to be filled with gifts and goodies.
