Registration for upcoming drive-thru vaccination clinic for flu/covid begins today
LISBON — Registration begins today for the upcoming drive-thru vaccination clinic for flu vaccine and/or COVID-19 boosters from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Columbiana County Vaccination Complex at the county fairgrounds.
Registration is required to reserve vaccine by calling the county health district at 330-424-0272 extension 118 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.
Vaccinations available will be for anyone 18 years and older and include the flu vaccine, both the high dose and the regular, and the COVID-19 Moderna bivalent booster.
During registration, callers will be asked some basic information and possibly insurance information to make the process on the day of the clinic go quicker. People receiving the COVID-19 booster should bring their COVID vaccination card with them so personnel can update it.
Most major insurances will be accepted for the flu vaccine, with a cash option of $25 for the regular dose and $50 for the high dose.
To reach the vaccination complex, drive through the main fairground entrance at 225 Lee Ave., Lisbon, and then follow the directions of attendants to the building at the northwest corner of the fairgrounds.
During a recent gathering of township trustees, county Health Commissioner Wes Vins announced the information about the flu/COVID-19 booster clinic, noting this gives department personnel a chance to get acclimated again to the drive-thru building. For new personnel, this may be their first experience.
The county health district first used the building for clinics when vaccines became available in early 2021 during the height of the pandemic, attracting residents from all over to the enclosure.
