SALEM — Salem City School District will be holding kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year next week at Buckeye Elementary.

Children must be 5 years old before Sept. 30 and reside in the Salem City School District to be eligible for registration. For families residing outside the district, an open enrollment request may be made.

Registration will be March 28, 30 and April 1 and is estimated to take approximately 15 minutes. To register a child parents are requested to schedule a 15-minute appointment by calling 330-332-8917. Those filing an open enrollment request are asked to notify staff when they call to schedule their appointment. Families are required to complete their registration forms in the “Final Forms” program on the Buckeye Elementary website in the resources section. The child does not need to be present at the appointment.

Required documents to bring to the appointment include: birth certificate, shot records, parent/guardian driver’s license or state ID card, proof of residency (utility bill, rent/mortgage receipt) and custody papers if applicable.
