PERRY TOWNSHIP -- Perry Township's annual Spring Cleanup is set for April 3 through 14, giving township residents an opportunity to clear some clutter.
Trustee Tony Ieropoli said that the north side of the township will have pickup the week of April 3, while the south side will be picked up the week of April 10, with State Street as the dividing line. He also said that there will be street sweeping by North Jackson-based Everbrite Power Sweeping & Paving following the pickup dates the week of April 17, weather and schedule permitting. Highland Creek and Pembrooke will be picked up April 12.
Only one pickup load will be taken per household and items should be able to be lifted into the truck by one person. All hoses and cords must be tied. Tires are not being accepted again this year, nor will garbage, glass, propane, propane jugs, air conditioners, televisions, computers, paints, chemical or anything with freon.
Residents are also reminded that leaves are only picked up in the fall and should not be put out at this time.
In the past residents have taken advantage of the township's spring cleanup dates to get rid of unwanted furniture, junk tools, kid's toys, and other small household items that are no longer wanted.
Information about the cleanup will also be posted on the township website at www.perrytownshipsalemoh.org.
