Banquet in Salem
Friends of the Banquet will sponsor the 4th Thursday dine in or drive thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Thursday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include Johnny marzetti, green beans, salad, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and pudding. Dine in will park in the designated area and proceed to the front door. Drive thru lines up in the lot behind the Memorial Building; one meal per person in a vehicle. No parking in the library lot. Neurodiversity tent
The Mahoning Valley Irish Festival will have a Neurodiversity Tent at the 2023 Festival. In an effort to make the festival accessible to the community, this special area will allow individuals who may experience sensory overload, anxiety, or other stress with loud music, lights, or crowds to take a break from the festivities in a calm environment. The Neurodiversity Tent will offer soft seating, low lights, Bluetooth headphones for watching the entertainment with personalized volume controls, fidget and other sensory items. Caregivers series
The Columbiana Public Library will be offering a free five-week series called Powerful Tools for Caregivers on Thursdays starting June 1 at 5:30 p.m. These classes will be provided by the Direction Home of Eastern Ohio, highlighting resources for people taking on the role of a caregiver. Registration can be completed on the library website or by calling the library.
Memorial Day service
Hanoverton and Bethesda Presbyterian Churches will honor Memorial Day this Sunday at Hanoverton Presbyterian Church. Traditional parts of the Memorial Day remembrance usually held in Betz Park will be incorporated into the Sunday Worship service. All are welcome for the service starting at 10 a.m.
Spoken Threads
THE HUB, a Columbiana-based spiritual gathering committed to connecting people through story will feature "Family Sagas" during a Spoken Threads Storytelling gathering at 2 p.m. June 11 at Harbel's Market at Firestone Farms, 45443 state Route 14, Columbiana. Featuring live music by Chase Reiter with Jenna Althouse and "Family Sagas" as the story concept/theme, this event is free and out to the public. Spoken Threads storytelling gatherings are designed to engage community members in developing empathy and compassion through the sharing of personal stories and include featured storytellers, live music and an open mic for those who want to share their story. Spoken Threads is an outreach of THE HUB, a spiritual gathering affiliated with First Presbyterian Church, Columbiana, and funded by the Presbyterian Church (USA). Cedarville Dean's List
Jessie Thomas from North Lima, majoring in Social Work, was named to the spring 2023 Dean's Honor List at Cedarville University. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

GreifShare seminar
LISBON - GriefShare seminar and support group will meet at Hope Christian Fellowship, 13320 state Route 7, Lisbon, beginning Sunday, June 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. The GriefShare Program is offered to the community for those who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. All materials are made available for participants free of charge. For information call the program director at 330-853-4421. GriefShare is a video seminar series that features some of the nation's foremost Christian experts and real-life stories of people on grief and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. Each video is combined with support group discussion of the materials presented during the video. It's a place where many people have found they can begin putting their lives back together again.
