Also happening Friday was the second annual Damascus Historical Society Antique Appraisal show held at the Historic Pierce House Friday. The appraisals were once again conducted by Harry Hofmeister of Hofmeister Realty & Auction Company, left, and Mike Jenkins of the Tool Chest. This year’s event saw antique jewelry, furniture, glass, paintings and more appraised and their stories shared.
John Gamble’s 921 Chalmers Touring Car, which still has its original wheels. When Gamble first returned home with the Chalmers there was little of the original body left, with all wooden components needing to be completely fabricated by hand, save the wheel spokes and a small wooden rod which Gamble incorporated into the interior.
