The ribbon cutting celebrating the recent opening of Elevate Building Solutions, the joint third-party commercial building department for the cities of Salem and Columbiana, was fittingly a collaboration itself between the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce. The ceremonial scissors and ribbon cutting duties they carry were shared by both Salem Mayor Cyndi Baronzzi Dickey, left, and Columbiana Mayor Rick Noel, right, with the hard working team at Elevate and many chamber and industrial ambassadors as well as city officials from both cities in attendance. Sustainable Opportunity Development Center Executive Director Julie Needs, who has been amongst those spearheading the efforts to create Elevate, described the process as "a five-year labor of love," with Dickey and Noel both sharing their gratitude for the hard work and collaboration of all involved from both communities, with an eye toward future joint projects.
