SALEM -- Scarecrow Alley is alive and awaiting visitors.
The Salem Federation of Women's Clubs – Salem Area Garden Club is offering a display of theme scarecrows in the pollinator garden located near the Smucker House, 271 S. Broadway Ave.
Visitors can stroll through the garden and vote for their favorite scarecrow numbered 1-through-10, which will count toward the first, second and third place winners. To vote visit the Smucker House Facebook page.
Winners will be announced at noon Oct. 14 during a celebration including popcorn and small pumpkins to paint.
Scarecrows include:
1. Praying Mother designed by "Art by Anissa DiLeo"
2. Boy Scout designed by Boy Scout Troop 6 from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church
3. Here Comes The Bride designed by Marge Greenisen-OSU Master Gardener
4. Beach Jimmy Buffett Tribute designed by Mary Stamp, Deneen Gardner, Mekensy Gardner-Salem Area Garden Club
5. Girl Scout designed by Girl , Scout Troop 80774
6. Farmer (No Farms-No Food) designed by Carolyn Caldwell-Smucker House
7. Bee Keeper designed by Teresa Cooper-Salem Area Garden Club
8. 4- H Grow With 4-H designed by OSU Extension
9. Blare Crow-RN designed by Connie Corliss-Mahjong Tuesday
