The Columbiana County Humane Society was recently presented with a donation of $3,160 at the shelter's main location at 1825 S. Lincoln Ave. in Salem as a result of the Sept. 16 Memorial Bike Run held in memory of Michael "Muttley" Brozman. Brozman's family and friends coordinated the event. The family asked the CCHS to be the recipient of the donations as Brozman had adopted a shelter dog "Max," a couple years prior to his passing. His family and friends credit the rescued dog with helping him live those extra final two years of his life. "Max" wore an adorable helmet while riding safely on the back of Brozman's bike. The family still has "Max" and he was present both at the memorial run --and pasta/chicken dinner which was held after --and at the delivery of the donations. Shown, front row, from left, Lari Slater holding "Max," Amy Johnson, CCHS Board member; back, from left, Doris Buzzard, CCHS Volunteer Board President; Britney Price, Humane Agent; Christopher Slater, Carissa Slater, Michael' Brozman's grandaughter; Tereas McGuire, Shelter Manager; family Mike Heather and Peggy Barnhart; and Rachael Martin, CCHS Board member. Not shown but contributing were Eddie and Mary Kunzar, Andy Sandora and Rose Brozman. (Submitted photo)
