YOUNGSTOWN -- The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) proposes to reconstruct 300 linear feet of failed roadway embankment along eastbound state Route 14 between Egypt and Lisbon roads in Green Township. The $667,840 project is scheduled to begin construction in the spring of 2024 and will be completed by late summer of 2024.
During project construction, state Route 14 at the project site will be closed to traffic for a maximum of 28 consecutive calendar days. The official detour route for this closure will utilize state Route 46, state Route 165 and U.S. Route 62; however, a local traffic detour route will also be established to maintain access for emergency/public services. Construction, lane restriction and roadway closure/detour information will be posted within the project construction limits and all intersecting side roads and on the project website prior to the start of project construction. Access shall be maintained to all properties, businesses, schools, etc., within and adjacent to the project construction limits for the duration of project construction.
While the proposed project will not result in any substantial impacts to environmental resources, ODOT is seeking any comments community members may have regarding the proposed project. Project-related issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, the effect of the project on residents, businesses, the local economy, historic or cultural resources, etc.
Anyone with comments or questions should contact Sean Carpenter, Environmental Specialist Ohio Department of Transportation, District 4, at 330-786-2274 or sean.carpenter@dot.ohio.gov by Jan. 15.
