Two arrested in Columbiana armed robbery

COLUMBIANA – Two Pennsylvania men are behind bars in conjunction with the Friday afternoon armed robbery of a AT&T store in Oakmont Plaza. Trey Bell, of New Kensington, Pa., and Kenneth Littlejohn, of Ambridge, Pa. were arrested within hours at a North Lima motel, where their electronic devices had been traced.

Beaver Township police Lt. Kevin O’Kernick said that his department heard radio traffic by Columbiana police regarding the AT&T store in Oakmont Plaza, which is adjacent to them within Mahoning County.

Columbiana was seeking an available K-9 unit as the one male suspect, wearing a camouflage mask, allegedly had fled on foot into a wooded area behind the plaza, which is near New Buffalo Road in Beaver Township jurisdiction.

The men, who had stolen more than 20 electronic devices during the alleged commission of the crime, made their way to Davis Motel in North Lima

According to Pittsburgh area media, Bell is suspected of robbing a T-Mobile store there around 7:45 p.m. Thursday and has several open warrants for theft, identity theft, forgery and other charges.

Newspapers were running articles containing his physical description and asking readers to call the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.

Both men were arrested on charges of felony receiving stolen property and possessing stolen property, as well as possession of criminal tools, and are currently incarcerated at Mahoning County Jail.

Bell also was charged with a misdemeanor count of obstructing official business.

Neither man has been scheduled for his initial court appearance as of Saturday night on the case docket of Mahoning County Court #3 in Canfield.

Attempts to reach the Columbiana police for this article were unsuccessful.
