BELOIT — The West Branch Board of Education approved the calendar for the 2025-2026 school year in its meeting Tuesday.

Board President Mikki Kanagy asked why only one potential calendar was presented and Superintendent Micki Egli said that it was the version previously approved by the West Branch Education Association. Kanagy noted that the new calendar was nearly identical to that of the 2024-2025 school year with the exception of Thanksgiving break, which will not include the Monday after Thanksgiving in 2025.

The board ultimately voted unanimously to approve the new calendar.

The first day of class for the 2025-2026 school year will be Sept. 3, while the final day of classes is set for May 29, 2026. Graduation will be held May 22, 2026. Thanksgiving break will be from Nov. 26-28, with winter break to follow from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2, 2026, and spring break set for April 3-6, 2026.

The board of education will meet next at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 20.
