LISBON — Lisbon is steeped in history and charm — a quintessential example of quaint small-town Americana with a rich past. So it makes perfect sense that the newest business opening its doors in the village is a microcosm of what Lisbon is.
Located at 126 E. Lincoln Way, Lincoln Highway Antiques will offer antiques, vintage treasures, and heirlooms for seasoned collectors, curious browsers or those looking for decor with both charm and character. It also, according to owner Mike Wilson, brings a staple back to the village.
“Lisbon used to have several antique stores and I remember shopping at them,” Wilson said. “Lincoln Highway Antiques will be carrying on that tradition.”
The storefront that houses Wilson’s endeavor is a bit of an antique itself. Located next to the Democratic headquarters, the building was built in 1930 and sat empty for 20 years before Wilson rehabbed it and set up shop.
Lincoln Highway Antiques will hold a soft opening this Saturday and Sunday during the Johnny Appleseed Festival, offering a wide range of collectibles. The store will be open from noon to 5 p.m. both days.
Wilson also offers consignment opportunities. Space is available inside the store for those wishing to set up a stand.
“People can call me at 215-681-9990 if they are interested in collaborating,” Wilson said.
