Detailed look at new Crestview campus presented to public

“We were just excited to be able to show what the community voted for. I am especially excited for the taxpayers, community and students for the school,” District Superintendent Dan Hill said.
Voters approved a 2.84 mill construction project bond levy in 2019 that paved the way for the new school idea to become a reality.
The public was invited to see renderings of the school and hear from Holabird & Root, the architectural firm that designed the new state-of-the-art campus.
Hill said the new building is expected to be opened in December of 2026, with students able to begin classes there in January 2027.

One of the bigger changes the new school will have compared to the existing school buildings is the ability to serve entire classes at one time in the dining space, Hill said.
“The district strategically has the ability to serve more students at one time and that will obviously increase academic minutes during the day without extending the school day,” he said.
What this means is that instead of three or four periods in the elementary being served in the dining area, the entire elementary will be served at one time over a condensed period of time.
The same will be true for the high school.
The new dining area can accommodate roughly 400 students at a time, Hill said.

Additionally, the new campus will have collaborative space for project-based learning and better proximity of the classrooms to everything students need, Hill said.
The project is currently on schedule and moving forward nicely due to the good weather so far this fall, he added.
“We are just extremely appreciative of the taxpayers,” he said.
