Gallery: 2025 Salem Trail of Treats
The tenth Trail of Treats attracted hundreds of children Sunday to Waterworth Memorial Park. Community groups and individuals distributed candies and other goodies. The event was created in 2016 by Kim Hoffman of “Eyes for Olivia” with the support of former longtime Salem Parks Director Shane Franks. “Trail of Treats was her idea; she has helped organize it every year,” he said. A costume contest was held prior to Trail of Treats. Kelli Pastore is the current director of the Salem Parks which has overseen the event each year. Winning honors for top presentations were: first place, Salem First Christian Church (Chick-fil-A); second place, Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office (Happy Gilmore golf theme); and, third place, DT Moore and Associates (Minecraft theme). Photos of those providing treats will be published later this week. Shown above, John Tonti, left, and Geoff Goll of the Salem Community Foundation helped children select a free book.
