The Salem Fire Department participated in this year’s Quakerfest at the fire station with their inflatable fire safety house which features educational information about fire safety like never playing with matches, keeping combustibles away from fireplaces, and an interactive section to teach them to crawl below smoke for safe air in the event of a fire. The department also handed out educational materials about fire safety and stickers and gave kids a chance to pick up a hose and put out a “fire” themselves. (Photo by Morgan Ahart)
