Lisbon council candidate forum set Oct. 8
LISBON — Lisbon residents will have a chance to question the seven candidates running for village council at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 thanks to the Lepper Library, which is sponsoring a town hall meeting.
The forum will be held at David Anderson High School, using guidelines offered by the League of Women Voters, Lepper Library Director Marcy Kaiser said.
Moderator for the event will be Jon Burnell, the school’s government teacher. The forum will be covered by the Morning Journal and streamed live on social media.
“The library feels that this event is a great way to get to know the candidates and their positions,” said Kaiser. “We want to thank the school for hosting this and Mr. Burnell for moderating.”
Following recommendations sent by the Youngstown Chapter of the League of Women Voters, each candidate will have 90 seconds to introduce themselves.
They will then take the same two questions from the moderator before audience members will have a chance to ask questions.
Each candidate will be limited to 60 seconds for each response. Questions from the audience will go to all candidates. Candidates will not be allowed to respond to each other.
Each candidate will also have 60 seconds for a closing statement.
The seven candidates are Jerry Cox, Melissa Hiner, Jereme Kliner, Patricia Kronenberg, Joe Morenz, Susan Temple and Joe Vitko. They are running for four available seats.
