Goshen Trustees unanimously advance OPWC application

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP — The board of trustees moved forward with the township’s Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) project during its meeting Tuesday.

Trustees voted unanimously to approve a resolution authorizing Board Chair Shawn Mesler to prepare and submit an application for the project, and to execute contracts as necessary for the project. They also voted unanimously to authorize a memorandum of understanding with Thomas Fok & Associates of Youngstown for project engineering for the project.

During his report Police Chief John Calko thanked the trustees, Fiscal Officer Michelle Barratt, and the township’s road department for their participation in the township’s “Halloween Extravaganza.” He also thanked the township’s administration and residents for their support in the approval of the department’s replacement levy in the general election.

Mesler also thanked the community for supporting the levy.

“That money was very much needed to get the bills paid,” said Mesler.

Mesler also thanked Barratt and all other veterans for their service.
