Knox Twp. death likely a suicide
LISBON — The death of a 35-year-old man on Margaret Lane in Knox Township may be a suicide, according to Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McLaughlin.
“All appearances are that it’s a suicide,” McLaughlin said Tuesday.
He declined to get into any more detail about what may have happened.
Sheriff’s deputies forced entry into the home Sunday after receiving a welfare check request again because no one had been able to make contact with Brian C. Tombow for at least 10 days. A deputy had stopped at the residence at 8:26 p.m. Nov. 20 for a welfare check, but was unable to make any contact with anyone.
When deputies made entry on Sunday afternoon, Tombow was found deceased.
McLaughlin said an autopsy was being conducted at the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office in Cleveland Tuesday and the death that had been deemed suspicious remained under investigation.
