Leetonia Elementary’s PBIS team honored by the state

Leetonia Elementary School’s PBIS team received the Gold Recognition Award from the state. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a behavior system that the school uses to emphasize positive behaviors. Staff and students follow a school-wide matrix that details expectations: Be Accountable, Be Respectful and Be Safe. Teachers embed these expectations into their daily routines allowing students to incorporate them throughout the day. Students are rewarded for positive behavior with Bear Badges and Bear Paws, which they can exchange for prizes and classroom rewards.
